New BLW's - Share Here

I gave Kynon dinner, just a couple of veggies cut into sticks, I know he liked the baby corn best and still loves it now! We still don't do breakfast as I can't be doing with the mess first thing in the morning when we are going out, they take ages so its good to have plenty of time the first few weeks so breakfast will be the last meal Im going to introduce!

Same here! I can't deal with too much in the mornings. Breakfast would just be a disaster! Lol

Gutted, OH wants to swap to purees :( he thinks it will make K sleep! Yeah right and pigs might fly!

why does he think purrees will make a difference?

We started with lunch (with Ben) as morning is too busy and I was worried that dinnertime could cause bedtime problems if a food gave him tummy ache or wind

OH thinks he's still hungry and not getting enough that's why he's waking all the time, I'm not convinced but I suppose it's worth a try, I already know he won't let us spoon feed him though!

Oh Hon, why would he want to swap to purees now esp as k has come so far??? Tell your oh that no matter how much they eat it makes bugger all difference to their sleep take it from me!!!! We are on formula, my lo has 3 meals a day and he naps during the day and we still get up at all hours during the night. Infact the little monkey slept longer through the night last week and I was barely giving him one meal a day as we were either out or he didn't want to eat. I cant figure out the sleeping thing I think it's just down to the baby rather than anything we do or don't do. Besides your little k is pretty willfull judging by some of your teatime tantrums so I doubt he'll eat the puree!! He'll be grabbing for your veggies lol!!!

Oops just seen your reply, well it might be worth a quick go just so you can prove that it doesn't make a difference, then maybe he will be happier letting you carry on blw??? Mind you if it does make a difference then you get more sleep so it's win win really!!!!

We had chicken and broad bean pasta tonight it was lovely and Lo managed to eat loads, it was so quick to make its ideal when you have limited time with a baby like us!!!

Grill chicken breasts under the grill until cooked, meanwhile boil up some pasta (I used parpadelle as easier for Lo to hold) during the last 3 mins add some frozen broad beans, drain and add some cremefraiche (can't remember how much but enough to coat the pasta) juice of a lemon and some grated parmesan (I only put a bit in lo portion cos of the salt) then slice up the chicken breast and add and stir together, serve with chopped parsley on top and a sprinkle more of parmesan, it's supposed to be quite healthy so me and oh demolished a ciabbatta loaf with it lol!!!!!!

Hope no one minds me putting up recipes but I know what its like when you feel uninspired and haven't got a clue what to make, I'd love to hear of any baby friendly recipes you ladies do for your blw lo's

Just curious, what was the first food you gave your LO. I was thinking of starting with breakfast but thought I'd pick your brains for inspiration.

I started breakfast with Lo, but we cleared an entire week so we would have time to do it, we gave him porridge, sliced mango and melon and he didn't do a lot with it and got bored really quickly!!!! Then we just gave him fingers of veg and fruit usually at tea time for about a week, then after that I got adventurous and moved him onto 3 meals a day and literally gave him whatever we were eating.

I need some inspiration on what to give LO. I'm not very good with coming up with new ideas and want to try her on as much as possible.

So far we've had, banana, pear, apple, cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, potato, green beans, bread, pasta and yoghurt.

Have you got the blw cookbook it's good for inspiration!!! Try pineapple, kiwi fruit, blueberries, or roasted butternut squash, bake some sweet potatoes instead of normal potatoes, fish like salmon or tinned fish like sardines are good, I put a prev post with a veggy hotpot recipe which was good as it had aubergine and corgettes in.

As predicted puree made no difference! I still gave him pieces of food anyway. I think he may even have had a tummy ache the last 2 nights with puree as he's been waking very upset not long after going down and hard to settle, he didn't before but who knows!
We're off camping this weekend so not a clue what K will eat as we tend to eat either junk, bbq or things like rice which he can't pick up yet, I've picked up fruit and veg and pasta so I guess he will have those but Im not very good at camping cooking! Any suggestions for future trips would be good!

Thought Id share some camping BLW photos from this weekend! So much easier outside!

yeah, Holly picked up one little pea in her fingers with an emerging pincer grip and popped it in! Closely followed by as much toad in the hole as her fists would hold!

Hey ladies, I've not been on for a while...everyone's Los are doing Sooo well :) we're still loving BLW! LO had chilli the other day and she's a huge cheese monster! I just try not to give her it every day lol! We went to my auntie's yesterday and she just gave her a biscuit without even asking me if it's ok? Grrrr it really annoyed me! Anyway suppose as a one off it's not the end of the world but why don't people ask?? Hmmmm!

Here's a pic of F enjoying her Spag Bol :) xx

Awww Smithy she's growing fast so cute! We've not had anyone give a random biscuit yet, know it will happen soon though!
Got my first food refusal yesterday, chilli vegetables! Not sure if it was too strong as we had a hotter version but he picked it up and screamed pulling a face first  gave him a banana in the end which was fine.

Alice tried a strawberry on Saturday! My friend gave it to her and she ate the whole thing!! She's also liking tomatoes at the mo. We are loving blw! And I'm glad both families are open to it and enjoying being involved. Mil loves to make her something and my dad enjoyed giving her things when we went for a meal last week

I know it's scary :( she's started to crawl now! But backwards lol! Bless her! I want her to stay little and squidge forever :)

Tuna pasta tonight with sweetcorn! She's having a good Nom on it :) xx

Had a couple of firsts today, i gave K jacket potato and he loved it, only left the skin which he chewed for ages was amazing! Also has anyone ever given malt loaf? Not sure if its any good for them but it stopped him moaning while shopping it was all I had and intended for me! Got me thinking though about making a homemade one that might be a bit healthier as he loved it. Im sure there was a recipe on here while we were pregnant, was it bunnykins recipe?

Just found that recipe, it wasn't you bunny it was Emmabee not heard anything from her on here recently, not sure I will make it though as it all bran which it too hard for babies to digest just now :(
