Need reassuring!

Hi Everyone,

I woke up this morning and i noticed abit of blood in my pants, just abit bigger than 10p piece and light red in colour.

I went to A&E and they did a wee sample and took blood. They asked if I had any pain, which I hadnt and any more blood which I hadnt (at that time).

Wee tested positive thank god!

They are sending me for a scan on Saturday.

So i went to work and ofcourse went to the toilet and more blood, not loads but enough to start me panicking again.

Is this normal? What shall I do now, wait for saturday or go back?

I'm not too sure hun, but didnt want to read and run! I think the main thing that would be worrying is if you had any pain. i have read alot about women bleeding through parts of their pregnancy and everything being fine, and the hospitals actually not being able to find a reason why it happened!

I think if it is stressing you out and still bleeding, then best go back (mainly for your own peace of mind aswell). Is it just spotting, like a drop?

Other girls will be able to advise better than me hun. Hope you are okay xxx

That is good that they have you in for a scan hun but so sorry you are still having a bleed. I can't really help to be honest as I didn't bleed like that but I know of people that have and it's all been fine... stay positive and if it worsens and you have cramping get yourself back up there. x

So sorry to read about you bleeding i bet your worrying big time because i know i would be. Well i hope its all good at the scan they should of really booked you a scan earlier because saturday will feel like miles away to you. Well i wish you luck. xx

To be honest i dont exactly know what spotting is?

At the moment its just there when i wipe. As far as pain goes havent got cramps as such just maybe a dull ache or whether its all in my head!!!!

Am like that i always panic and panic and it ends up to be nothing alot of ppl panic its normal. I hop everything goes ok on your scan. xx

Well i have always assumed spotting is like a drop, basically when you wipe, yeah thats spotting. Rather than say af when everything is full flow. If you start feeling really bad pains i agree with hopeful and go back to the hospital.

It does sound like the spotting women can get during pregnancy. I had a bit of light pinkish stuff when i wiped a while ago, but i worked out it was around the time af would have been due. It wasn't there for long and stopped after a day. It wasn't red though, it looked like pinkish cm.

I'm not sure if they could bring the scan forward if you go in and say you are worried about whats going on hun. xx

Intermittent bleeding I would class spotting, not continous bleed and the cramping could be the uterus expanding making room for bub's? x

Serious cramping i would go straight to the hospital, but a dull ache does sound like stretching. I don't have much pain, but i get small twinges and sometimes just a dull uncomfortable feeling. I asked someone i know who has had a kid and she said she had that as well and light pains, but says its basically everything stretching. xx

I would defo try get your scan brought forward because i know you will be worrying and saturday isnt that far but will feel like it. xx

i noticed your 7 weeks and the midwife said to me it maybe normal to have a bit of blood and then turn to brown because its round the time your period is due!! i have had a mc before and the bloood came out bright red and lots of it then their was the clots, i dont think you have much to worry about but if it came very bright and lots of it id go back in xx

In my 1st pregnancy i had bleeding and it wasnt spotting, it lasted 2 weeks. i had to wear a sanitry towel and it was bright pink! not quite red but i did panicked, crying and everything.. i got given a scan which was on a sunday and i think i started bleeding on a thurs or friday so i had to wait, i had no pain tho, as far as i can remember! went for scan and everything was fine... they dont know why i was bleeding, but she is now nearly 4..
it really scary so no point telling you not to worry as you will, we all do! but just thought id let you know my story and hope it gives you a more positive outlook!! xx

Just seen your post there, hope your ok. I've also had spotting today, it was browny/pink but quite alot of it. My heart sank when I seen it as I had 2 mc's last year. I phoned the midwife and she said not to worry unless theres lots of bright red blood and pain. They won't bring me in for a scan for another 2 weeks yet as they think it might still be too early to see anything. Try to stay positive xx

You must be worried poor you no point in telling you not to worry is there? hope your scan reveals that everything is just perfect and that it's just spotting xx

Hi......pretty much the same as the others have said. Of course you will worry, I would be banging on the door of hospital! If not heavy bedding and no pain then everything should be fine. If I was you id put up my feet and rest for next few days. Get waited on hand and foot. Big hug honey xx

Hi, i phoned my midwife and she was able to see me so that was good. I had mild cramping and spotting when i wiped. She pressed my tummy which was abit sensitive but not too bad, she also used the machine to listen to my tummy but couldnt hear anything (she did say that she didnt expect to hear heartbeat at 7 weeks)

She then phoned the gyno unit and explained to them but they wouldnt bring my scan forward unless things got any worse.

The cramping has gone off a little and im not spotting as much now.

So hopefully things are ok and it will be good news on Saturday.
