NEED HELP !! (with a question)

I'm 30weeks pregnant with my second child,
And I'm unsure wether I can claim a maternity grant,
I'm on benefits and didn't apply for one with my first child .
Also when do inform , income support, child benefit + tax credits I'm pregnant ?

I think it's only for your 1st child... Look up the sure start maternity grant on the website. And if you go on the tax office website you can do a benefit calculator. You can tell them your expecting a baby, but doubt they will do anything untill baby is here and you make a new claim x

I was in this situation when having my 2nd I was claiming income support. You don't need to inform any of these people until baby is actually born and you can claim for a sure start maternity grant if you didn't claim with first baby. I didn't even know about it when I had my first but you can only claim once so if you go on to have other children then you can't claim for any more. Hope I've helped a bit xxxxx
