Don't know if there is such a thing, and I know everyone's different, and promise I'm not moaning because I am so delighted to be having a successful pregnancy so far, but just wondering if anyone has any tried and tested recommendations for curbing the constant nausea!

I'm 7+2 today, I've read it peaks by week 9, at the moment it's worst at night so it wakes me up around 3am for hours so the lack of sleep isn't helping I suppose, can handle it mostly during the day just been eating regularly, anything super bland, crackers, rich tea biscuits, digestives and ready salted crisps, plain pasta or boiled rice for tea, have been the only way forward the past few days, along with tiny sips of lemonade which I know isn't ideal but hoping eating something is better than nothing along with the preg vits x

Hi Claire, congratulations on your pregnancy :) I found cold things really helped, anything warm made me gag.. Ice lollies were my saviour even though it isn't the weather for them.. Then crisp, crunchy fruits, anything with a slight sharp twang really helped (like a crisp apple or a satsuma). When out and about I always had some hard boiled sweets with me (found some sugar free ones for diabetics as was worried about the amount of sugar) which really helped when a nausea pang struck. My nausea really eased from week 10/11 so hopefully the case is the same for you x

Agree with the sharp tangy things - I had a packet of sherbet lemon sweets with me at work and when I started to feel sick I'd suck on one of those, really helped!

Hope it eases for you soon, it's horrible isn't it xx

Thanks ladies, I will be sure to give these a try! I think I've narrowed it down a bit to when it's worst it's because of hunger. And also thanks for the sympathy lol x

I'm finding the same Claire - I just feel nauseous unless I'm eating something so keep having to snack and ice lollies are helping and crushed ice drinks. If only the UK had 7/11 stores - a slurpee is the exact drink I would want all day long! X

I was feeling really nauseous for weeks as well and read that if you take your vitamins after your dinner at night you wouldn't feel as bad as taking them in the day. I've done this for two nights now and feel soo much better during the days, not fully but I've taken my sick bands off now, unless it's just coincidence of course as I'm nearly 10weeks. Hope you feel better soon xx

Flat Coca Cola or flat iron bru worked for me x

Plain crisps (cheap ones like Tescos own) just nibbling them and sipping water. Hard boiled sweets as long as they weren't too tasty.. and mints, polos etc having an empty stomach seemed to make things worse & I found I could eat more through night (used to cook spaghetti from a tin at like 11 pm, but it was something at least! Lol)

Sorry you're having a rubbish time I remember it well and nothing really helped :/ I lost weight and was dehydrated so doctor gave me tablets but I only took one and felt bad in case it harmed my LO. Mine resolved just before 20 weeks scan. Hope you feel better soon. Xx

Small snacks. Usually for me it's either an orange, or an Apple, or some chips, or pretzel sticks. I keep stuff in the car now too so when I am feeling cruddy and woozy I can easily just grab what I have and feel a bit better. I'd recommend eating small snacks throughout the day though. I'll usually just munch on stuff even when I don't feel woozy this way I don't get woozy (Even though I still get sick half the time and I'm always hungry).

Thanks everyone. Trip to the doctors needed next week, as unfortunately nothing seems to be working and I'm full on spewing literally 24/7, it's consuming my life :(

aahh I'm sorry you are feeling so rough. With nausea I found sucking on a mint or boiled sweet helped, also sipping fizzy water or flavoured fizzy water helps. I hope your sickness passes soon xx

I'm currently 6w and feeling the exact same. I have noticed it's worse when hungry. Started carrying around apples and some belvita biscuits in my bag. Make sure I eat something small every couple of hours. Sipping water seems to help. I'm yet to try ginger biscuits!

I've actually noticed if i haven't drank enough I feel very sick! Sparking water is great for it apparently, lidl do lemon and lime sparkling water, taste like lemonade yummy!! Xx

I got some wristbands that apply pressure. They help but I'm not sure why, may be psychosomatic. Anyway i got them from boots- ive only been nauseaus and not actually sick, but i do hope that helps you get some relief.

I also like the travel bands and sipping water helped. Nothing else did with me. I tried dry biscuits and ginger biscuits, but just couldn't stomach them.

Just to update this - I wrote this when I thought I had morning sickness, I have Hyperemesis which peaked at week 14 and required hosptal stay, had no idea what I was in for when I wrote this thread!

I have to apologise as well, as i have also gotten hg since this post and can't believe I suggested the wristbands. Haha. Bring on the antiemetics. I'm on a cocktail of drugs at the moment and still can barely move without thinking i will puke or actually puking. Yuck. Commiserations to us.

I have been told plain ginger biscuits (not the creamy filled ones) are good for Morning sickness, well anything Ginger if you can stomach it. Great for upset tummy's :)

...Obviously not if you suffer from Hyperemesis though! Hope they get it under control for you both! x
