OK guys I thought it would be a good idea to compile a thread of tips and remedies for morning sickness and then maybe ask the mods to sticky it as its a very common symptom that lots of women suffer with. Let me know if u think its a good idea or not!

In the morning

* Take your time getting out of bed.

* If you tend to feel really sick in the morning, eat a little as soon as you wake up and before getting out of bed.

* Ask your partner to bring the food to you, or prepare a snack the night before and leave it beside your bed.

During The Day

* Dont wait until your hungry - Eat little and often, every two or three hours.

* Drink a lot of liquid, preferably 10 to 12 glasses of water, fruit juice or herbal tea each day.

* Avoid food containing a lot of fat or spices.

* Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

* Eat dry crackers, toasted bread or rusks - Plain rice cakes are another excellent all-day nibble

* Ginger tea or ginger tablets can help reduce nausea.

* Fruit is easy to digest, refreshing and hydrating.

* Rest several times a day. Lie down with a pillow under your head and legs.

* Move slowly and avoid sudden movements.

* After eating, sit down so that gravity helps to keep the food in your stomach.

* Avoid smells that make you feel sick or throw up.

* Don't brush your teeth immediately after eating because this can cause vomiting.

* Get some fresh air and exercise by going for a little walk every day.

* Accupressure bands that are used for travel sickness are said to help with morning sickness.

* Avoid smoking. Not only is it harmful for you and your child, it also diminishes your appetite.

At Night

* Before going to bed, it may help to eat a snack such as a yoghurt, bread, milk, cereal or a sandwich.

* If you wake up during the night, eating a small snack may stop you feeling sick in the morning.

* Sleep with the windows open to get some fresh air, if possible.

Snack Ideas

* Make fresh ginger and lemon tea. Grate a small lump (1-2cm) fresh ginger root, add a slice of lemon and top up with boiling water.

* Plain rice cakes are another excellent all-day nibble.

REMEMBER it wont last forever so try to make yourself as comfortable as possible during the periods when you have morning sickness. It normally eases towards the end of the 1st Trimester!

If anyone has any to add then please post below and I will add to the list!

I havent had any sickness (yet) but i hear ginger nuts can help too. And those bands people wear to stop travel sickness, they work by accupressure so apparently worth a try!!

sounds very comprehensive!

Maybe just add at the bottom that it will eventually get better- just doesn't seem like it at the time

Someone (sorry, I have "Pregnant Brain" today!) suggested that Gaviscon could help Morning Sickness, and, if I rememeber correctly a few poeple agreed!
