Names that end up ruined.

I love Loki ! I think stick with that! Why bother what anyone else thinks?? Its not their baby :) xx

Arthur is a really lovely name, it was one of my favourites too but my OH wasn't keen unfortunately! One of the other couples from our NCT class have named their little boy Arthur and as far as I know they haven't had any problems with people saying it weirdly or wrongly, I think if you love the name then go for it :)

hmm i do still like Arthur and loki so sod it may just.go with it thanks xx

I think Arthur is lovely. I loved the names Seth or William for a boy :)

I'd say sod it too Hun. If you pronounce it correctly LO is more likely to do that too and family hopefully, so I'd go for it if that's the one you love most x

I'm with Melly, i don't understand why Arthur is ruined :eh:

How it's pronounced seems pretty straightforward to me and i have a yorkshire-ish accent.

Perhaps write the name down on a piece of paper and ask people to read to out to you and see how they pronounce it xx

Ha ha LouiseB, that's my plan for when we come to choosing a name. I live in Germany and my name is pronuonced really weirdly here and annoys me quite a lot! They say the "o" really short and the "ph" really long if that makes any sense!

I'm Francesca and no-one calls me Franny. I'm Chesca to my family and Frankie to my friends.

Its not just Yorkshire its very close to Barnsley lol - me and Dh have put it back on the list.... which so far is Arthur.... nothing else yet lol.

I love Arthur! It was definitely top of my list if we were having a boy!
That and Bertie and Tristram.

Oscar
Harry
Charlie
Thomas
Alfie
Daniel
Henry
Archie
Robyn or Robin
Oliver

xxxxx

Yorkshire folk always seem to drop the 'H' I am from Durham but live in Wakefield and it was the first thing I noticed!!!

xx

Im near Wakefield im from Thornhill, Dewsbury! I normally say Barnsley or Leeds because more people know those. and lets face it when you say dewsbury all you think of is Sharon Mathews-- its not all like that lol x

And we do drop as many letters as we can because its the height of laziness lol x

When you said Loki you reminded me of the name I liked but DH didn't which was Lorcan. It's celtic irish so was kind of traditional but still a bit different. I don't think I'll ever be able to have Lorcan so you can have it if you want (aren't I kind :D). I'm guessing everyone else won't be keen though hehe.

I like it, but DH won't agree... i may wait till labour when he will agree to anything! hehehe x

Just thinking as you like Loki, you may like Loick which is my nephews name, pronounced low ick. Its fench origin and although unusual really suits my him, he gets called Lo by his sister. Chosing names is tough!
