I've tried to mate them before but Leo just needed to man up and grow a pair lol.

Exciting!!!

I love having a litter of pups, so rewarding when you see the looks of sheer delight on the faces of their new family!!

Even hand rearing one litter of 13 didn't put us off!!

Your Shepherds are lovely - am not a fan of the roach back pointy ones in the show rings at the moment!!

Same here!! I like me all English, heavy boned long haired's! was it you that hadthe litter of staffies?

Awwww, little gorgeous bundles of fluffiness!! :yay: cute x

i daren't show my oh this he loves gsd's!!!! I have a jack and he keeps saying Jacks and gsd's are a good match!!! i say a baby and a dog is enough for now!!

i was going to put my ess into stud but 1 i dint want him to hump everything he sees and 2 he doesnt do field training so only thing going for him really is his bloodline that its 1 of the good ones but unless he got field ch then it doesnt seem worth it if they looked like him they would sell well though ad he has alot of white so for a gun dog he is easily found and to tell apart from other ess

It can change them dramatically when they've been used at stud. Some of my boys haven't changed a bit some have become overtly male (marking and 'bitching') and one in particular overly aggressive with other dogs after being used once - he's since been neutered.

Personally I only ever use dogs that are fully health tested and have proven themselves as good workers and/or exceptional show dogs, and only if the bitch is of the same standard!!

Gosh, your Leo is such a handsome devil

My aunt breeds GSD and she likes to go for the well marked chunky ones - some of her dogs are huge. They get snapped up by the police force, great quality dogs :)

You might want to put the elbow/hip scores up of the bitches too, especially the dam just because i wouldn't buy without knowing their scores so maybe other people won't?

Sorry if it's there and i missed it

I've got a border collie dog and a pyrenean sheepdog bitch but i won't be breeding. I get tempted with my bitch because it's a very uncommon breed and she has great type and temperament - but i just don't think i'm ready for such a huge responsibility...

Oh - how do you keep the dog hairs int he house and on clothes down to a minimum? I brush my dogs til they are nearly bald but omg the hairs are everywhere!

my dog likes to mault i recommend buying good hoover, a really good grooming brush and seek out a groomers that use products and equip that reduces maulting :)

as for breeding i doubt i will ever put him to stud if i ever did i would getting him fully health checked first but as he isnt a working dog amd just a family pet i doubt i ever will

I've got a border collie dog and a pyrenean sheepdog bitch !

Ahhhh now there's a breed I'd like one day - Pyrenean Sheepdog!!

There was one at Crufts doing agility and giving the BC's a run for their money!!

oh my gosh, I just looked at the pics of your dogs and melted....they're gorgeous!!

Your GSD are beautiful. I have been around big dogs all my life! I grew up in a house full of Irish Greyhounds and German Shepards. My uncle is a IWH and Great Dane breeder. My dad trains Police / security dogs for drug and bomb raids. Funilly enough I currently have a parsons JRT! lmao. She is cute and calm for a JRT but I would LOVE a big dog again. Now that we may be moving into a bigger house I think I will be looking around for one!! Eeek.

Have you ever seen a Caucasian Ovcharka? They are beautiful. My uncle owned one that took down a cougar at 8 months old! Sounds outrageous be they live in Vancouver! They are beasts... Have a looky...(not my uncles dog just off google)

You must show us puppy pics when they arrive!

xx

Yeah they do. They're known for their 'mane' xx

Oh my word!!! I want one!!!! Lol x can you imagine the moulting though?!

Pudds that dog is immense!!!!!

I am so excited about this mating as I am VERY lucky to be able to use and own the dogs I do... I have been searching for this blood line for about a year and a half and was under the impression that the lady who started it 26 years ago had retired... until We found each other through my website and we are really good friends now and I consider her a kind of mentor also.

As for Leo becoming too male... I think this happened at around 10 months old haha, he is a diamond with the kids, but very overprotective. Luckily he is very responsive to me in particular and responds 99% in the way I want to most things. I think he can read my mind sometimes

I'm lucky that they only seem to moult 2ce a year really badly, then quite lightly surprisingly the rest of the year. nothing a dyson animal can't handle lolol

I have a GSD WHITE PEDIGREE girl called Bonnie she is a beauti!! :D
Although when we breed her we will be only breeding with a white stud to keep in the tradition as if we breed with diff colour etc i think it would reck the breeding ie dont wana breed with collie or a diff colour GS but we will be tryin her to have pups with a white male stud not cheap as weve looked lol. And then we will keep one of her pups.
As most white gsd are nearly out that zone where there not all white anymore since it people bred that colour to go diff mixed etc..
Heres bonnie boo as we call her :D x
