I really thought that Moses baskets would be about £25 lol! I'm seeing that they're more like £50 and then you have to buy the stand and stuff separately doh!

Anyone got any recommendations as to where to go to keep price a bit lower?

xx

I got mine from kiddicare, cost about £30ish I think, got my stand new from eBay for £10 delivered.
I was shocked at the prices as well for something may only be used for a while! X

my advice is dont bother!! they warp in the middle!! even the dear ones!! my advice is use a carrycot off ur pram if u have one?? xx

I paid £20 on gumtree, with all the bits and bobs.
bought a new mattress for it which cost me £10....

also bought a £300 pram, nearly brand new for £40 on Gumtree!!

xxx

I wou;dn't bother i got mine for mother care for £20 as it was a display one you can get matresses for £6 of amazon. You can also get things that you put in there cot that go around them so you dont need a moses basket x

Sorry, gatecrashing in here.) I'm thinking of a crib i(static or swining) nstead as more solid and can last them up to 6 months, looking on ebay and gumtree also as easier to clean than moses basket and gonna get a new mattress off the net.

I got my first one for £10 on gumtree. It may have been 2nd hand but more like 3rd or 4th. I'm gonna give it to charity shop tomorrow cos my mate gave me hers which she got new just recently and its waaay better than what I had. Even better she gave it to me free along with her baby listerner system. Maybe ask around friends??

I got mine, with stand in immaculate condition for £5 at a boot sale!!

I'm just planning to use the carry cot from the pram, my friend offered me hers for free but I don't think I'll need it with the carry cot, I'll end up with too much stuff everywhere!

I got the snug moses basket from mothercare but i wouldn't bother with one really. I would highly recommend a crib as they last longer.

Ebay would probably be cheapest. Theres the moses basket for £26.99 in Argos. xxx

I'm forever ranting about my crib  but after having this and a moses it outweighs the moses basket price wise and how much it gets used x

This is priced £120 on Very but I have seen it online from £70 which is what my moses basket and stand came to, Odhrán was in his moses basket for 8-10 weeks, he was in this crib until he was 8-9 months and the only reason he was put into his cot was because he was starting to pull himself up.. Everything is included, no extra stands or anything, very cosy, no hard sides to bang off and easy to fold, just unwind 2 metals bits at each end and it folds flat which makes it easy to bring up and downstairs as well as in the car for anytime you aren't staying at home x

my lo hated his moses basket he would scream when i put him in it (we think because base not firm enough) i put him in his cot about 4 weeks and he loves it, no more crying now, well apart from when hes tired and will scream till we put him in it. i wouldnt bother next time just put the cot in ur room

Use a moses basket in your living room to give your arms a rest when your LO is sleeping. Go for a crib in the bedroom, worth the money and guaranteed to use them more as they last longer/stable. If you buy 2nd hand, then make sure you buy a new mattress.

I had a moses downstairs and it just wasn't worth the money at all, very rarely used, the crib was so easy to fold I would have been able to easily shit it from up to downstairs, will know for the next time x

I'm glad you asked this question as I was wondering wether you could use the carry cot off the pram instead?
Then my sister in law told me she still had a crib so I'm going to use that in the bedroom then the cot can go in his bedroom and we'll see how he likes both!

I was thinking of moses basket because our house is over 4 floors, our bedroom is in the loft and the kitchen is at the bottom, how would i carry a crib up and down? Or should i use the carrycot from the pram?

The carrycot would probably be great for carrying with baby in, the crib is very easy folded and quite light, only downside is obviously baby can't be in it when it's folded x

Yes, i am thinking of carrying the baby with me in case i want to be in the kitchen, even with the monitor i would have to run upstairs. Moses baskets have handles as well, dont they?

tbh u cud prob do with both hun cos ull find it a nuisance, buy summit for bedroom and use carrycot off pram downstairs xx
