Morning Sickness Support Thread!

My update - I had a scan today and saw a little bean with a heartbeat. It measured just over 6w. It is a relief to see a heartbeat after having 2miscarriages... Feeling extremely nauseous and was sick today. Tired, exhausted but relieved. Hope you are doing well xx

Hi Firsttimemum, how are you? I think for me the whole nausea and sickness comes in waves. I felt slightly better yesterday but horrible today. I think it's probably the hormones playing and the body adjusting. I hope your heperemesis gravidarum will go away soon so you could enjoy your pregnancy xx

That's great news. It's amazing isn't it. I'm still feeling nauseous. Still only eating beige foods. Dreading work tomorrow not sure how I'm going to manage x

Hope you feel better tomorrow Emma. Maybe if you get plenty of rest today then it would help? Have you tried mint sweets? I had some in my bag and tried today. They did help me for a while even though I feel really nauseous today.

Hi HappyS1 I'm pleased to hear you aren't suffering every day. I changed medications last night and still feeling rubbish and being severely sick so it seems I'm back at square 1!

Hi Firsttimemum, do you have times during the day when you feel better? I felt better last night and even ate a panini... This morning is absolutely horrible ((( can't keep anything down. Feeling so tired and tearful. Just hoping it will ease off by the eve.. It just seems to be so unpredictable. What kind of medication are you taking? How do you deal with your nausea/sickness?

Hi HappyS1. I'm actually better than I have felt all week. Just as well as I'm working all weekend. just trying to eat regularly the usual beige foods. How are you today? X

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better Emma! Nice change isn't it? As for me, I am at my worst today I have been so far ((( nauseous and sick since early morning and am not eating anything at all today (( even drinking water makes me feel nauseous. Not good at all. I am just hoping that I feel better in an hour or so. So I could eat a tiny bit of something.

Sorry that you are having a bad day. Have you tried ginger biscuits? They didn't work for me but I've heard they help some people

Thanks for your advice Emma. I haven't tried them or ginger tablets yet. It just wasn't as bad before I thought I might just try to deal with it myself. I'll try ginger biscuits and possibly tablets too and see how it goes during the weekend. Thanks for support! Hope you are feeling fine xx

Hi HappyS1, the only times I have felt better during my pregnancy were when I was taking cyclizine; they worked for me for about a month and then as the midwife warned they stopped working as my body became immune to them. Since then I've changed to avomine (?) which I have to take at night before bed for it to then become in effect for the next day. The first two days I took them they didn't work and I felt and was sick most of the day. Today though I feel slightly better and have managed to eat a full meal. I don't really deal with it if I'm honest I just try and feel as positive as I can by thinking about how lucky I am to be pregnant and try to focus on the end result but often I feel down and low with no energy. It's very exhausting. I have a 15 month old daughter plus I work so it is hard to manage I just try to eat when I can and stay hydrated. Sometimes HG eases up at around 20 weeks so I'm hoping it does for me! With my daughters pregnancy I was only sick on and off for a few weeks so during that time I ate when I didn't feel sick etc but with the HG it's not often I feel ok at the moment so when I'm so I make the most of it.

How are you feeling today. I survived the weekend thinking things were improving but nausea seems to be back with a vengeance today. I've tried some gaviscon this evening because the indigestion is making me feel worse. I've just cooked a nice chicken pie for dinner and managed about three bites of it

Hi Emma, same for me here. Friday was the worst day in terms of sickness, was feeling nauseous all day and being sick very often. Then Saturday and Sunday was better and even this morning, but the evening is horrible again((( I just want to cry seriously. Did food shopping with my hubbie tonight and felt like fainting and just being sick (which thankfully didn't happen). All these smells in the supermarket were too much for me. I will now try do shopping online for a while. Not eating much but trying to drink at least. Chicken pie sounds good, I loved it before I was pregnant but for some reason turned into a vegetarian now :) xx

Hi Firsttimemum, I had cyclizine too during my early first pregnancy (which ended in MC sadly). I have been feeling so nauseous, was lying in bed for days and weeks. At the hospital they gave me cyclizine but it didn't work at all. I had it for about 7days and stopped as didn't see a point in taking it. I must say this time I do have days and moments when I do feel better, so just like you trying to eat then. And trying to stay hydrated at all times. You know I am just hoping that the nausea will ease off by week 12 and I am not one of those ladies who has for months! I hope your nausea will ease off soon! Xx

Sorry you aren't feeling any better either. I really went off meat when I was pregnanct with my daughter. I have just had a bowl of cornflakes lol. That's all I fancied. Tried some gaviscon earlier but I think it just made me feel more sick tbh. We do a lot of online shops atm. We are doing hello fresh this week. The meals are really lovely I'm just worried that I'm not going to eat them

It's a strange feeling, I really want to feel better but when I do, I just start worrying so much that smth is wrong. I really hope the nausea will ease off by week 12. For now hoping to have more hours of not feeling nauseous than feeling nauseous, this really helps I find. And now definitely online shopping))) I am planning on booking my first appt with a mw. I was told it would be around 8-9 weeks. Have you booked yours yet? Hope you have an easy day tomorrow and feel better! Xx

I need to be in here now :( morning sickness hit me like a tonne of bricks Monday night :(
