Does anybody live in the tvhomes area or does anybody have to use a points bidding system to get a council house in there area?how many points did u win ur property with??

Also if im on income support can i get any kind of decorating/furniture grant when moving into a council house? thanks in advanced x

Each points scheme is very different to each local area unfortunatley.

Might be worth looking at the statistics for your area, most councils/ALMO/ housing associations provide this info on their website (usually well hidden) especially if its choice based letting systems.

You might get a grant from a social landlord IF the property is in a bad state when let but normally you wont be entitled to anything. You can just apply for a budgeting loan which you obv have to pay back

Some areas have pilot schemes where you can offer to help decorate social housing properties and one of a group of you doing it gets chosen to rent the properties you do up. Ask at your local housing office if there is anything like that in your area, its usually for homeless peple though.
