I know what you are saying too Kx, thats what i was meaning, everyone chooses different ways to bring up their children and some are happy to do it on benefits, and some are happy going out to work and leaving their babies.

Each to their own and all that i suppose!

but if everyone chose to claim benefits whatstate would the country be in?

Thank god I'm not the only one. It's wrong, pure wrong. As I have said b4, Id love to be a SAHM but I was raised that you want something you work for it, and Rebecca will be raised with these values.

There are exceptions who cant work, but being a mum or a single mum is not an illness and shouldn't be an automatic entitlement to benefits! U should be joining me and working ur arse off! :moon:

I know and i will be going back to work once my maternity leave is up as i know we can't survive on OH's wage solely!

I'm getting confused, which ain't hard these days!

I can understand from both points of view to be honest, but it;s an individual choice as to which route each of us go down!

My taxes shouldn't have to bring up peoples kids. I have to work so why shouldn't other people?

Yes but don't forget, your taxes also help to pay for the fact my son has sleep apnoea and gets a disability benefit, and I get paid to be a full time carer because registered child carers won't have him! It doesn't just pay for people not to work because they are bums.

I know what you're trying to say but it's an argument easily slung about about taxes paying for people who don't work.

I'd be more worried about our taxes paying for the immigrants Tony Blair has lost from prisons in England who weren't deported.

I am lucky that i can be a SAHM but when all my kids are at school i can't wait to start work :cheer: ,we had been on job seekers allowance for a few months and it was horrible :( ,my oh worked bloody hard to turn that around for us and is now a qualified bricklayer and floorer. I think getting a trade is the way to go it was for us :D xx

Exactly Sami there is so many different aspects to it, so no one is ever gonna come to the same conclusion about things like this.

we ought to get back on topic.

babygurl are you preggas?

i totally agree iknow its frustrating when you are working to think that your taxes go on someone else but i agree with sami and the immigrant thingy

As I said Sami there are EXCEPTIONS!

Now my daughter has been off with meningitis, bronchitis, gastrointeritis, conjunctivitis in a matter of 4 months, and I was just let out of hospital yesterday with plurasy but had to go back to work today for the pennies. Sacrifices.

Tony Blair and immigrants are only a small part of the taxes! AN important one however :shakehead: And I will get hung up on taxes, as I don't get paid to SAH with Rebecca!

she hasnt made the appointment yet and i dunno if she should cause i woke up this morning cramping really bad so i dunno! ill cal her at work in a lil to find out!

I was raised with the same values and just because I am a SAHM it doesn't mean that my daughter wont be. I choose to stay at home and bring her up because I can. When she's at school I will get a part-time job then to fit in with her hours. I get the same as everyone else, child benefit and child tax credit of around £12.50 a week therefore I think it's unfair to assume all mothers that are at home with their babies are on benefits. We can just manage on DH's salary and if we couldn't he would get another job to make sure we could and that I could bring her up.

Hi

Hope you get that appointment.

Kina Bernie and i are the same way barely manage on his income and monthly child benefits but i wouldnt want it any other way i dont wanna miss a thing and have soem stranger watch her, and when she is older in school i will find a part time job.

We are in exactly the same position, if things get tight maybe i will get an evening job, i have never claimed benifits at ll
But if i did surely i would be entitled as i have paid tax aswell

I am not assuming all stay at home mums are on benefits ok! If anyone wishes to PM me with any problems they have with my posts I will be HAPPY to discuss!
