I've received a text from her saying baby arrived at 12:08 after 4 hours of pushing, she needs surgery but is doing well!

Such a lovely surprise!!! :) xxx

Just had an update at 9pm:

Where do I start?! For 2 days I was having frequent, uncomfortable BH and cramps. Last night they got a little worse, I had s huge clear out and thought it might be soon! Had a bath and went to bed to wake up at 1am with bad pain. They quickly ramped up and by 3am were every 2 minutes and agony. Got to birthing centre and was 4cm. Tried tens but hated it so got in the pool. Started on gas and air soon after and found it amazing! Stayed in the pool coping well. By 8.30 was feeling the urge to push and the gas didn't help with that. Started pushing which I found worse than contractions. Tried many positions in the pool but he wasn't moving down enough. By 10.30 I had to get out the pool to try other positions to move him. Was agony!! I'd feel him move down and then shoot back up! Midwife made me go on a really uncomfy birth stool which was torture but really opened up my pelvis and he started to come down. By 11.30 he was starting to get tired and I was exhausted so they started to consider an episiotomy or forceps. I told her I'd give it everything I had so she got another midwife in and the two of them, me and james held my legs back on the stool and I screamed the place down!! His head very slowly moved down and then he was born at 12.08, cord round his neck twice!! They think the short cord was causing him to not move down. I ripped completely. Up in my womb and front to back so was sent to surgery to have a spinal to repair it. Surgery was fine but starting to feel sore now. He's feeding well and currently fast asleep on me. I have an infection and they think it may have passed to him so waiting on a paediatrician for tests to see if he needs treatment too. He's so perfect and I'd do it again in a heartbeat for him.

He is called Noah and was 7lb 6oz. :) :) :)
