I had a membrane sweep on the 12th July when i was at the hospital to make sure little one was head down, she had been classed as an unstable lie for the last few weeks of pregnancy.
By 5pm the same day i started getting mild pains, these didnt stop but when i started timing them they werent regular. I was woken up with strong pains about 2am but then they calmed down again.
Phoned delivery in the morning and they said just to keep an eye on babies movements and if i got to the point where i coudnt handle the pain to go in and be checked.
I had a bath about 12ish but even the water didnt help with the pain, i think by this point contractions were every 5 minutes and were quite painful.
By 3pm i was at hospital being checked. i was 2cm and the midwife couldnt decide whether to admit me or send me home, thankfully she admitted me and i was given gas and air, this calmed me down a lot as the contractions at this point were getting harder to breathe through.
5pm ish i was given a shot of pethedine as i was starting to struggle just on the gas and air.
About ten to 7 midwife checked my blood pressure and temp and decided she would examine me. Waters suddenly popped when she was checking and i felt babies head move down straight away. i can just remember having this intense urge to push and the midwife telling my oh to push the button for another midwife..she hadnt even had time to get her apron on or anything.
2 or 3 pushes later Mia was born at 7.01pm. We couldnt believe how fast she came out.
Im in love with my little girl and so blessed to have her
