****** May 2015 Mummies to be *******

Durham I know it shouldn’t have but it did make me smile (ok I laughed out loud) reading your post about Blake today ha ha bless :-)

What painkillers can we take? I haven’t taken anything since becoming pregnant but definitely need something for my back, it’s unbearable xx

Omg I just laughed at my screen reading about Blake hahaha!! They're such charmers kids aren't they hehe :)

Yeah just paracetamol I'm afraid i hate taking anything but after 6 days of a headache i had to give in.

Thanks Durham and button, yes I don't like to take anything unless I am really desperate, but have got to that point xx

The cashier in Argos was very sympathetic as I dragged him across the floor to her counter as he banged his head repeatedly in frustration  We really are embracing the terrible twos!

Odd question, Does this happen to anyone else but every time i climb my stairs for example i have to stop at the top as my heart practically beats out my chest and i hear it in my ears pounding!! its awful!! Maybe I'm just running up to fast and should take it easy, im far from unfit so i don't know what thats about?!

On Durham that's is so funny, can just imagine it now. My 2 older children are age 9 and 7. Reading this makes me think oh nooo we have it all to come again lol, I forgot about terrible 2s lol.
Aw ain't kids just the best, keep us on our toes and test us but wouldn't change them for the world. Little characters :-) x

Buttonbear I have noticed when I am walking fast i get out of puff and heart gets fast, much sooner than it ever did when exercising before pregnancy.

Sorry another question from me, is it ok to have a hot water bottle on my lower back? xx

P.S. Did anyone see the Viking sperm programme last night? (That wasn't the actual name of it but it was something like that!)! Made me realise how super lucky I am to be having a baby seeing those ladies who were so absolutely desperate to have babies and couldn't. Another reason to be happy today. OK someone stop me with the positivity craziness before I drive everyone to...well...I would say drink but I guess it will have to be chocolate!

Ohhhhh I really wanted to watch that, forgot it was on though! Low sperm count is an issue here, so if we hadn't been fortunate enough to fall naturally, we were going to have one more shot at IVF with my partner's sperm and then *think* about donor sperm.

I popped into Aldi this afternoon, I bought a few bits but although there was lots of stock, there wasn't much I really needed or wanted.

I am off for my ECG in a min. What's everyone else up to today?

Yes I've noticed this too, I figured it was because our hearts are already working harder than usual and the added physical efforts just make it work even harder.

I get the heart beating hard thing too. I have to go up two flights of stairs at work, and I have to stop to rest at the top!

Hot water bottle on lower back is fine blueeyes, if you have a bath id also recommend a warm bath to ease off the pain that always helps me. I also hear my heart beat using stairs but living in a bungalow I don't do it that often so thought it was because I wasn't used to it lol. My little boy has been a nightmare whilst we've been out, nearly got himself run over whilst I was putting the trolley back as he ran off before I had chance to catch him. Ran around the whole of asda living and wouldn't hold my hand, I ended up pickinghim up and walking out as I could feel my blood boiling. He behaved himself whilst we were having lunch after very stern words but he just won't listen to me at the moment, everything I say he just ignores and starting to feel like im pulling my hair out with him, he's doing the same at nursery. We've stopped sweets and if he behaves himself all day he has a small piece of chocolate after tea. We put him in time out if his behaviour is bas and sit him down and talk him through why his behaviour is bad and what he should be doing instead and praise him when he's doing as he's told or playing nicely constantly throughout the day. My mum wants me to have him tested for adhd but I really don't want to put a diagnosis on him when it's just bad behaviour as he can be good. Sorry for the rant but I feel like im at the end of my teether today. On the upside I got a couple of sets of clothes for the babies in asda living and some bath sponges and bottle teats and muslin cloths. So feel like I've knocked a little more off the list and im now shattered and readyfira nap. .. now just to convince my little boy to have one so I can! Xxx

Thanks Caseysmummy. Unfortunately we haven't got a bath (we have a huge double shower instead). Had a shower and held the shower head on it for ages, which eased it at the time. Will get a water bottle now.

Sounds like the terrible two's day today then. Guess we all have this to come xx

Oh Casey! Your boy makes mine seem mild in comparison lol! Hope you get some rest, I've got work at 5pm :wall2:

I hear my heartbeat often. Walking the dog, climbing the stairs, and sometimes lying on my back in bed in the morning! Our hearts are working harder anyway.

My boys almost 4, I thought we were well past the terrible twos :(. I'm lying on my bed watching TV whilst he plays on my ipad it's keeping him quiet and allowing me to relax a little. He's not always been this way. The past 2 months have been hell though but since I've been signed off work its knocked him out of routine. Im due back Monday so praying this helps gets us back to a proper routine and he may settle down. I need a break but since his behaviour has gotten to this bad point ive banned sleepovers as that was a treat and I want to teach him that if he doesn't behave he doesn't get to have or do the things he likes and that he needs to warn treats and not just expect things for nothing. So yesterday the midwife told me she suspects I have a water infection as I had protein and traces of blood in my sample so she sent it to the lab and lefta message with the dr to prescribe me some antibiotics, I rang this morning to find out what I needed to do as she told me it needed to be treated asap as it's a risk to pre term labour left untreated so she made me promise to ring today to get my prescription. The dr rang me back and said he didn't want to just give me antibiotics as the dip tests are very sensitive so he would wait for the analysis from the lab which will be Monday. Now im not feeling well this afternoon, feel very sleepy witha headache and slightly sick would this be related to the water infection or possibly stress induced? Im not sure what to do. If had taken the water sample to the dr wouldn't they have prescribed me antibiotics if they had tested it. Im confused. Xxx

Hi Caseysmummy, I've never had a water infection so don't know myself, but believe they can make you feel quite unwell, as can stress and worry.

I have heard from physio and they have 'fitted' me in on the 20th february :-( When I was recovering from my slipped disc i saw a private osteopath (once I was fit enough) and they were great, just looked at their website and they treat pregnant ladies. Has anyone seen an osteopath of chiropractor whilst pregnant? xx

Caseysmummy - at my 16 week midwife appointment she tested my urine and said it had traces of leucoytes (Google tells me this is white blood cells that shown infection) but she said it wasn't anything to worry about.
I was in the assesment unit last week with bleeding, they tested my urine again and it showed blood and leucocytes, so they said I had a urine infection. I was told I didn't need antibiotics and to drink more water to flush it out. They sent my urine swabs to the lab for further testing, I haven't heard back so I am to assume it was clear.

Try and drink more to flush it out, if you're feeling unwell I'd contact your midwife, but I think it's ok not to treat it with anti-bs straight away.
