Maternity Underwear

Hi Girls,

Anyone got any recommendations of where to get nice maternity bras etc. The ones I got last time were from M&S were a bit frumpy. I know they are there more as a function than a fashion accessory but it would be nice if I could find some trendy ones that also dont break the bank!!

I need an answer to this question too, where is the best place to get measured as well? I would love to know somewhere that specialises in maternity and nursing bras as regular underwear stores dont seem to have the foggiest!

My favourite nursing bra is my Elle Macpherson one. It's really comfy and looks feminine, which I haven't found with most maternity/nursing bras. I got mine second hand from ebay (cheapskate) but you can get them from figleaves...

I got measured in Mothercare at about 8 weeks and Marks & Spencer at 30 weeks, they try to flog you a bra but there's no obligation to buy if you don't want to.

I bought some maternity bras from M & S which were ok, but now I just wear support non wired bras from M & S which are much better and hold me up more. They also look a bit better than the standard maternity ones. I'm not buying nursing bras until about 2 weeks before my due date as my boobs will probaby grow again. I got measured in M & S and they were really good x

I don't trust M&S after some awful woman told me at 9 weeks pregnant I was a 40A when I was a 34B pre pregnancy and hadn't grown THAT much, then got me to try on some god awful bras that didn't fit and when I said this she told me I was going to be hideous for 9 months

I ran out when she went and searched for some more for me!

Some of them are just awful, there's a woman in our office who is skinny and virtually flat chested, when she went to M&S they said she should wear a 40G???????????????? Are they stupid or something?????? Anyway, she left the store a bit perplexed and hasn't been back since.
If they cant get normal boobs right I don't want them anywhere near my pregnant ones!!!!!!!!!!!

The Elle Machperson was the best one i found it was sooo comfy and really sexy! it did cost £32 roughly and it was in Mothercare but i think it was totally worth it. Also answer about measuring. i went to La Senza to get measured but found out that for some reason they do not measure pregnant women due to dramatic size change during pregnancy, i liked to know where everyone else went please?

I got a nice 2 bra set from mothercare. Got measured in marks but they told me that they wouldn't measure someone so early in pregnancy (14 weeks) and that I could wear underwired until birth, so I wouldn't buy off them! Debenhams were also really good.

Mothercare are really good for measuring and fitting, really helpful! I measure at a 44G but oddly, i'm only a 40DD in terms of fit. I got a couple to tide me over as my ribcage is still massive - i'm only 5'2 with a short upper body and long legs so even though my LO is fully engaged and ready to go, she's still sitting quite high as theres nowhere for her to drop really.

Once its back towards my normal size (i started off as a 36 band) I'm going to invest in some from Cake Lingerie, i totally love them. HotMilk also do some nice stuff but i prefer the Cake Lingerie stuff - its hard to navigate the Cake Lingerie site, but if you google them, some of the stockists have easier ones!
