Maternity bra rant!

another thing with maternity bras, they dont have much padding..... my OH calls me "Porn Star Nips" at the moment! they poke out like a have jelly beans down my top, hehe! I NEED PADDING! after such unsucsesful maternity clothes shopping i told OH this evening,,, i think i'm gonna design and bring out my own brand of Maternity clothes .... nice ones!!!!

I HATE maternity bras!!! They're so ugly, i have a couple from motehrcare, they're 34E and only just fit!!

I was a 32DD to start with, and i had to buy a 36E in la senza a few weeks ago, that fits lovely now, and i bought a 34DD which is getting a bit small :(

I wont be swapping my underwire for none underwired, i like shape, plus my boobs leak as it is so i cant see how it's be doing damage at the moment.

I was thinking about getting a maternity bra from hot milk but its £32!!

I dont know if you have a Bravissimo near you but they are known for doing best fittings. They take a long time to help out www.Bravissimo.com

On their website they dont advertise Maternity bras, just nursing bras...but if you go to their store they do have Materinity bras- they look lush and are very cumfy.

I have gone up a cup size and one size up on width...I have a funny feeling I am going to grow much bigger round my boobs :)

i went from a 34E to a 38E, and these are starting to pinch, need to ditch the underwire, but need to wait until pay day!

Heh, thanks everyone, you've all made me feel more normal :D

I may go out and buy a nice big underwired bra for use with lovely holiday tops next month ;)

I've always been annoyed with M&S measuring before so I'm not convinced they have me in the right size. I usually find that I am actually a cup bigger and 2 inches smaller when I've been measured elsewhere.

Dannii your comment about your Mum just reminded me, my Mum doesn't have a lot of boobage left after two kids so i better make the most of my porn star boobs at the moment :rotfl:

M&S bras definitely measure differently to other shops....I was a 34B pre-preg and got measured about a month ago in John Lewis and was a 34D. Didn't buy a bra there though cos they're expensive so I went to M&S and got some of their non wired t-shirt bras - they're actually quite flattering and look good under clothes and they do black, red, pink, purple etc - and it's 2 for £9!

BUT the sizing is a bit strange, gonna have to experiement a bit more with that xxx

bravissimo do do maternity bras online... they are just called "soft cup" so that you dont think you have to be pregnant to wear them :D you guys should think yourself lucky being able to go into m&s etc. i have to buy my maternity bras from bravissimo as ive gone up to a 34H!!! No bump yet but nearly have to get mew uniform at work due to my bust!! dont get me wrong i love bravissimo bras, just get peeved coz they are more expensive than high street shops.

As some of you may know I had nightmares when pregnant (and after when my milk came in) getting bras to fit. I started out as a 32F-32H (depending on what bra) and ended up wearing a 34L after getting fitted before I had Imogen. the 34L was still too small but it was the largest cup size they had.

I went to Leia in Bluewater and it was a Royce bra. I have stopped BFing now and my boobs have gone down, thank goodness. I am wearing an old 32GG bra which is underwired (ahhh bliss, actually look like I've got decent boobs in an underwire! :rotfl: ) - I prob need to get a smaller back and bigger cup size as it keeps riding up at the back and the underwire bit at the front doesn't sit flush on my chest against my breast bone, but I can't afford to keep buying bras! I am still losing weight so will prob get measured in a couple of months when my weight has settled a bit more. I would recommend Royce - they are comfy.

I am also considering a boob job... but a reduction! I am going to give it til next Jan (over a year since having Imogen) and if I am still big boobed and unhappy with them, they are going! I would love to buy nice pretty CHEAP bras. And to buy a dress off the peg and look good too.

Good luck with bra buying I know how much of a nightmare it can be.

Hmm, I was 32C pre pregnancy and got measured at 8 weeks as my bra started feeling uncomfortable...I was measured and now measure in at 24DD  my new bras that I bought then are soooo comfy, but I hate them they look granny like  but oh my life soooo comfortable but am I weird?? Growing so much and needing maternity bras at 8 weeks?? and this is my first baby

I wouldnt take it for granted that the ladies are right in M&S, I got measured a while ago and they got it so wrong, going from a 34G to a 40F I got the bra but when at home I knew it didnt fit, my boobs were sagging and the back of the bra was practically on my neck which is a sign that it is too big in terms of inches! I tried again and this time they said I needed a 40DD which I know cant be right, they have definately not shrunk. I think the ladies in my store need to be re-trained! My best advice is to take in a range of sizes that are similar to your original size and test them out in the changing room, you know when your comfortable and having been wearing these things for so long its obvious when they fit and when they dont! each bra will vary in size as with different styles of clothes. I've gotta get some more as my boobs just seem to grow and grow!
