Hi all

Has anyone been anywhere good to get measured for a maternity bra? Went into Debenhams today but was advised instead of getting measured just to 'try one some different ones and see how they feel'??? Think need to get measured properly! Am busting (no pun intended!) out my normal bra plus am sure I am meant to stop wearing underwired now.

Also, anyone seen any nice maternity bras? Everything I have seen so far is v frumpy!!

T x

I was measured at around 7 weeks and was advised to go for basic non-wired bras at that time as I may still grow. John Lewis and M&A were great. I think I may need to get measured again so will go back to John Lewis or M&S, no idea on nice bras.

I got some good ones in Mothercare which were in the sale. The assistant asked me where my current bra was too tight (it was my rib cage mostly) and she then picked out a few in bigger sizes.

Bras seem to differ in each shop, I 'm usually in 34dd underwired and Im now a 36e non wired at 18 weeks, but all M&S maternity bras in a 36e are far too small (and look dreadful)!

I found mothercare naff for larger more supportive maternity bras and ended up getting m&s firm support ones...

I bought a couple of bra's at around 12 weeks pregnant from M&S. The assistant pointed out some good supportive ones suitable for pregnant women. They still fit me now (at 26 weeks) and are so comfy!! They are also suitable for breastfeeding. No doubt I will need to go back and get some bigger sizes in the next month or 2.

I really must start looking for those nursing / maternity bras, myself , thanks for the thread Tania, I may have to visit M&S soon for a browse - anyone know what sort of price we are talking for a good feeding bra nowadays?

Hey hun i would get measured from wherever u want to buy ur bras from cos all the sizes are different and yes defo go for non underwired. Mothercare have quite a good range actually and M&S are good too...goodluck xx

I got some bravado nursing bra's, you can get them online but I got mine from the la leche bf advisor that helps with the local bf support group at cost and would expect them to be reasonable elsewhere, they are sooo comfy I now have 4!!

I got a couple of packs of 2 nursing bras for £20 from m&s... not the most attractive things you've ever seen but not much is in a 34G! Was a 32DD but m&s measured me about 8 wees ago and that size still fits now... Good luck hunting? X
