Maternity notes

I read someones post about getting their birth notes from the hospital.

Do they take your pregnancy notes off you to put with your main medical notes or do you keep them? The ones you take to the midwife through pregnancy?

They keep them. They also keep your and the baby's postnatal notes when you are signed off by the midwife at around day 10.

I was most upset when I discovered this!

They took my notes that they took during the birth and the first few days after but I kept my pregnancy notes. They never asked for my pregnancy ones so I never gave them to her

Yep they have all my notes in a big file of all my hospital visits/treatments that's kept at the hospital.

Cool thanks girls, i'd like to keep the notes to compare if/when i have another so i think i'll take a photocopy before i finish up at work!!

My friend photocopied hers too! My notes with chester would have been pretty full by my stage in pregnancy cus I had lots of bleeds, this time round I still havent seen my actual midwife!
