Maternity clothes

Hey!

Just wondered where ladies have found best for cheap maternity clothes? I begrudge paying £20+ per item when I'm only going to be in for 4 more months. I've bought size bigger from primark etc but find they not as stretchy as proper maternity wear so may try buying the next size up from that.

I love asda's maternity leggings, I've bought 4 pairs £12 for 2 pairs and that will do me. I've also got a couple of cheap tops that I sized up in. Maternity wear is so expensive when you are only really in them for a few months x

I have found H&M pretty good for maternity stuff, there's always stuff on sale in the local one and tons of stuff online. Got a 20% off voucher if you want it!

Asda seems to have a great selection online, but sadly none of the local shops stock any stuff. Same with Boohoo and Asos, brilliant selection at such a low price, but some of the reviews online have me a bit worried.

I like new look the best. I made an error a couple of weeks ago, generally jeans wise I'm a 12 but at the beginning of pregnancy a 12 hung off my bum and legs so I bought 10s from new look (£25), 2 weeks ago at 29 weeks the 10s were getting a little tight so I decided to buy some new jeans, I remembered last pregnancy I loved h and m jeans so went there and bought a pair of 12s for £35. They fit lovely. However when I wore them all day the next day I found them a little tight, I was really confused and it wasn't until I did my washing I realised I'd had the 10s on and both shops had EXACTLY the same jeans, all the labels everything was identical, except I'd paid £10 more at h and m! I'll be sticking to new look

It’s really hard to find cheap maternity clothes but I found New Look and H&M good value for money. In terms of leggings I’m 39 weeks and I’m actually still wearing regular leggings from ASOS as they’re so stretchy and the waistband comes up nice and high, I’m ordinarily a size 16 but I’ve just bought them in an 18 and they’re fine.

Peacocks do fab maternity leggings which are really comfy

I went to H&M last week and for me as a curvy 12-14 thier sizes are a joke, i triedd 16 and 18 size mat jeans there and they were no good, but thats just me, FYI they have some GORGEOUS baby clothes in there!

I found H&Ms maternity leggings uncomfortable in that the waistband was not pleasant/scratchy on my skin.

I am yet to find myself some jeans really really need some too!

But what I did afterwards helped me...I went to "Yours" (they generally have bigger women clothes) so I just bough big sized jeggins for 24GBP each and they are suuuuuper comfortable!

I just can't buy anything from H&M...I tried their maternity stuff on last Saturday and not even my ARM fits in there. They look nice but unfortunately not suitable for me.

Well I went in every shop today listed above and not exaggerating there was one rail or maternity clothes! Plain t shirts and granny dresses. Was so disappointed! Seen loads online from America but not waiting all that time for delivery. Why is it so hard lol?! Xx

You will find that in most shops, lots do maternity ranges but it’s all online unfortunately, I’ve ordered and had to return loads of stuff over the last 9 months, but at least quite a few of the shops let you return the clothes in store for a refund so you don’t have to wait to get your money back.

I'm all about ebay! Also, my pregnant friend has recommended Boohoo.com. So far going up one dress size for Sainsburys dresses is working for me but I'm just under 20 weeks so I don't expect it to last very long!

I got loads of bargains on eBay in the past. Also I really recommend the maternity/nursing vests where the front clips down at the strap for easy access. You can wear them under normal tops to cover the bump gap and still get use out of them afterwards. I used pretty much the same sets of clothes for my lady 4 pregnancies but they worse out and I had to chuck it all. Begrudgingly will have to replace them when I start getting big again. Will be going for vests and maternity leggings with my usual skirts over them. Maybe a big pair of jeans from eBay and I know I will need something more gigantic for the last few weeks. I can never believe how big my bump gets

I'm a plus size (22-24) and other than a couple of pairs of maternity leggings and a few nursing tops I've just been buying a size up but buying a lot of floaty summery tops with room for bump. My bump started showing around 22 weeks and now at 37 weeks tomorrow it is huge. I live in maxi dresses or leggings now.

Do you have a mothercare outlet near you, I bought a pair of jeggings for £2, a dress for £4 two going out skirts for £2 each and some tops for £4 and £6 each. Oh and maternity tights for £2 per pack of 2.

M&S do great maternity bras, they're all I wore with my son and bought them again this time. They do packs of 2 for about £30 xx
