I personally love this name and wanted it for my son but we went for Ethan. i really want it this time if we have another boy but my OH isnt 2 keen but i think i could talk him round. i remeber mentioning it to OH's parents during my last pregnancy and them turning their noses up at it and saying no so just wondering what everyone thinks of it?! i want someting a bit different and so there wont be 4 of them in his class at school! x

I love this name but am a lil biased as my best friends 2 month old son is called Mason :)

xxx

I can see ur point but to be honest that doesnt bother me coz theres so many names that are used for both. x

I love it personally... I'm 4 weeks pregnant and me and OH really like Mason if we have a boy. :)

Congrats Lauren! where im from its fairly popular but im living in glasgow now and ppl look at me like ive just made it up there and then. names are alot more traditional here. x

love Mason !!!! I think it sounds classy and ooooze confidence ,good strong name..

Gorgeous name! Love it :) Ethan and Mason sound cute together too!

I love the name Ethan but OH seemed to think it was too different, he's such a bore! lol

lol my OH was the same with Ethan but we wanted something there wouldnt b 2 many of around. So now Ethan is at playgroup and theres 3 in there that will b in his nursery class! gutted! Hopefully Mason wont b as popular! x

I'm sure there won't be too many Masons, I don't know of any atall :)

Does your OH like Mason too?

x

Hes not mad about it but he can only come up with "Ellis" that he likes and i think it sounds a bit girly. Hes not saying a definate no 2 Mason and seems 2 be coming round 2 it recently. we really dont agree on boys names, its hard work! x

I see what you mean with Ellis, I think of it as a girls name but probably only because I know a girl Ellis! Masons a lovely name though, hopefully he comes round ;) x

I don't like the sib combination of Ethan and Mason - they sound kind of similar to me.

The name Mason is a surname to me also, which isn't a big deal if you have an uncommon surname but i think if you have a common surname that it sounds odd.

Also - it's sound so american to me too, it is said in a southern accent in my head :eh:

I do think that it is masculine though, just to finish on a positive :)

A few ppl have said the surname thing to us but even names you would consider "normal" first names like, Ross, Stuart, Thomas, even my name Kay are surnames aswell (along with lots of others), so i dont really agree with the point. And my OH said about the american thing 2 but its actually an English name.

Masons a lovely name, and its unusual :)

Go with that name babe if ya love it that much  x x

two of my friends recently called there little boys Mason. It seems to be a popular name atm

It getting more likely everyday that Mason will b his name as were really not agreeing on anything else! Im sure i'll get my own way in the end! x

Hmm I'm undecided on it tbh, it makes me think of the men doing funny handshakes. If you like it, you should go for it x
