Has anyone used this or know anyone thats used it?
Its for heartburn and indigestion.
The doctor has prescribed it to me but over the phone and he never remembers i'm pregnant even though i tell him.
The internet says the affects of it haven't been fully established yet and i'm wary of taking it.
Please has anyone used it and been fine?
I don't want to risk anything
xx

Best thing is to ask pharmacist. They know the contraindictions of prescribed drugs as well or better than doctors and will be able to tell you if safe to take. If not sure then obviously avoid or you pharmacist may be able to recommend something insteadc

I asked her and she just said if your doctor prescribed it i assume its fine.

It's like talking to a brick wall with the doctors and pharmacists round here x

I have and it said the effects haven't been fully established yet. Xxx

lol, sounds like the doctors and pharmacists here too.. if i could afford private healthcare, it would be bliss! maybe try a boots or lloyds pharmacy they usually know what they're talking about.. or phone up your mw? xx

Have you tried Gaviscon Advance? Only available from pharmacies but it's much better than normal gaviscon, I've mentioned it before, just can't remember who too! Oops, baby brain!! :)

Think I'd stick with gaviscon as well hun :)

I have gaviscon advance but I'm building up a resistance to it lol I never seems to work when I take it now. I don't think I'm going to risk the new one. Thanks ladies xxxx

I am 32wks pregnant and my doctor also prescribed me with Maalox Plus and I am taking it up to now. I just thought of googling it and was surprised to see the phrase 'effects haven't been fully established yet'. I don't feel anything odd while taking it, besides I've only taken it for a few times. I just hope nothing goes wrong with me or by baby.

I'm not sure if you're aware but you're not supposed to eat or drink anything for half an hour after taking gaviscon, otherwise it won't work. just an idea :) x x
