Low placenta girls where are u at?

Hi girls,

Just wondering how those with low placentas are getting on?

Mine was 2cm from my os at 20 and 28 weeks.

I was meant to have a scan this week at 32 weeks but I'm in holiday instead so now have one next thursday where I'll be just shy of 34 weeks.

Although they can move later this should give me a pretty accurate idea of whether I'll have to have a c section.

I really want a natural delivery despite a 3rd degree tear with my 1st so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I feel like it's not moved though as I can feel it throb slightly at times and can therefore feel where it is.

I have my scan tomorrow , I will be nearly 36 weeks. When I had my last one at 32 weeks I needed to be an extra 1cm clear . So wish me luck the placenta have moved that 1cm . x

Just seen you have an induction date hun how bloody exciting not long now. I've had a complete change of mind and decided to go for a vbac birth instead of a planned section so have no idea when things will kick off for me!!

If your placenta Is lying low you will be informed at your 20 week scan. Mine is low lying and anterior. I have a 34 week growth scan next Monday so I'm going to ask if mine had moved. If not got my placenta scan on 6th Oct. Hopefully it has next week as bump seems to have popped out quite abit recently. All they have told me is that it's low lying but clear of os. At my 28 week growth scan all they said was it was still too low. X

I had my 36 week scan yesterday and the placenta is now in the normal position , such a relieve its been playing on my mind since my 20 week scan. Now I can go to the local hospital that I wanted and have a natural birth.

I have my scan Thurs & I'll be 37 wks Fri. Don't think it's moved as it was still covering my cervix at 32 wks, plus baby is lying across my tummy diagonally.

I was told I had a low lying posterior placenta at my 20 wk scan. Have to go back at 32 weeks for another scan. The sonographer never mentioned how close it was to my cervix and it just says low on my notes. Would I have been told if it was covering or not? Last 10 weeks of waiting have been long, only 2 weeks to go till I go back. Really nervous as so want a natural birth. They did tell me the majority move out the way so I'm trying to be positive.

Clare Louise that's great news, what distance did it move from and to?

Tinks- My scan is tomorrow too! Good luck! I don't think mine has moved either, I only need a cm thought so you never know?

Lisa- If you read your scan report it may say the distance, or something like 'covering OS' or 'abutting (next to but not touching) OS'

I'm in at 3:40pm so will update after that.

All I know my placenta wasnt a complete cover it was partial . It had to be clear 5cm from the cervix.

Maybe baby I'm sure yours would clear by a cm that's what I had to be clear from 32 weeks to 36, my placenta is in the normal position now.

Hope your re-scans go well tomorrow ladies.

Just re-read my scan notes and it only says "Placenta - posterior, low" The sonographer definitely didn't mention how low in relation to my cervix so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Not long to wait now
