I'm on the verge of snapping !

This child does not fucking sleep , I have posed a few threads about this before but I really can't cope anymore . I can't walk round the streets all day to get her to sleep ,she refused to sleep in her cot , she refused to rocked , she won't be swaddled . She will only sleep being pushed outside in her pram . I don't even have a garden so I can't even push her out there .

Am at my wits end . I try talking to my OH and his answer is let her cry it out . NO I won't I hate hearing her cry . Am sorry for going on , I just need to get it all out xxx

Much the same here :( Except he will be rocked to sleep, but is so heavy, it's a terrible strain on me.

I wish she would let me rock her , she use to let me but the last few weeks she screams blue murder when I try xxx

How soon do you put her down?? I find that the optimum time for H is 2 hours 45mins if I put him down before he moans coz he isnt sleepy enough and if I put him down after he is over tired. I prob only have a 5 in slot or I am screwed!!

For us it's an hour 45. Think it's trail and error with timings.

Don't let OH bully you into CIO if you don't want to.

Please don't stress you will get there!

I but her down every 2 and a half hours or earlier if I see her rubbing her eyes, do u think I should wait longer to put her down ? Xxx

I refuse to do it , I know it works for some people but it's really not for me . It always seems to be men who are all for controlled crying xx

Noooo put her down earlier! Tyler's 6 months and can't stay up past 2 hours. I think try an hour 1/2 maybe?

It's so hard! I don't know what to say because I've been in the same situation and I know what people say doesn't make it better, sleep does!! If you need to rant pm me I've been there/going through it. It's not easy but you can stay sane!

Thanks Hun , I really appreciate it . I know it will get better so I just need to try and be positive . How many naps does Tyler have a day xx

Oh gawd this brings back very painful memories for me. Will your lo not lay on bed with you, if I pretend to go to sleep, lo does within 15 mins. Is your lo in pain and screams when laid or just keeps getting overtired? big hugs xx

Since implementing putting down every 1 hr 45 he'll have 3-4. 4 is ideal! These range from 20 mins to hour 1/2 with no pattern. When I started his sleeping at night improved but it's gone to pot again the last few days because of growth spurt. I started by letting Tyler play in his cot when I was pottering around the room and went from there.

I think she's prob overtired TBH , I find it hard to stop the cues of her being sleepy , as soon as I see her rubbing her eyes I will put her in her cot and she will just messes about in there rolling around ETC she normally does this for about an hour before she starts crying , but as soon as she's in a pram being pushed outside she's asleep with in mins xxx

I wait till he does his first couple of moans then put him down, I put the dummy in and his eyes roll and were off!! Maybe just experiment putting her down before you normally would and maybe try dragging her out a bit to see if it makes a difference??

Aw hun, the sleep issues are the worst! I know you don't want to do cry it out, but could you try pick up put down? In my case, K cries herself to sleep whether I am holding her or not. The only way she won't cry is if I feed her to sleep which I can't do forever. I have learned that I have no choice but deal with the fact that she will cry. I never let her get really upset though and go in often to calm her down. the first few times it took 45mins- an hour to get her to sleep, but after a few days she is asleep as soon as I am out the door. It may also be that she is getting overtired. I would try putting her down earlier. Do you think she is feeling well? I'm not sure what else could be up.... :hugs:

I can't see how old she is but I'm with pinky James is 4 months on Sunday and only goes 1.5-2 hrs then needs sleep and it's rarely 2 hrs he has a big nap in the afternoon 2 short ones in the morning and an hour from 4.30-5.30ish.....she sounds over tired to me but I would persevere with it she will eventually sleep xxx

I agree hun try and put her down earlier. I'm not sure if you remember but I was having an absolutely nightmare putting Angel down for naps, she could take up to an hour just to settle and even then she would only sleep for 30 mins. So I started putting her in her crib 1hr 45min - 2 hours after she previously woke even if she showed no signs of being tired I put her in there and now she's falling asleep within 20 minutes, sometimes she's asleep within seconds and her naps are lasting anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes!! She's 8 months nearly and at 2 hours she gets very sleepy and if I don't time it right she's a nightmare. I know how you feel hun it is horrible you feel like you never get 5 minutes :( hope you're ok xxx

I totally agree Stanley is 7 months and cannot go longer than two hours!!!! He is a nightmare after that!!! X

can't really add anything other than Will goes down every 1.5/2 hours or so. x
