Long Baby?...

Hi Everyone,

Had my 32 week appointment today, and as with the last check up my bump/baby is measuring a few centimetres longer than it should, by about 2 and a half.

Midwife has said that if it is still the same at next appointment she will book a scan for me at hospital,,, she thinks its because my husband and family are tall...i am short!

Anyone else have the same/ know of the same? Any implications? Am I more likely to come early?? :?
 
If she is going by the fundal height then I wouldn't look into it that much...it's a notorioulsy unreliable way of measuring!

my husband is 6ft 6 tall and most of the men on his side are tall, both my babies were long, but ryan was 10lb 7.5oz :lol:
 
My fundal height was measuring 6-8 weeks ahead generally. Had a scan today and baby is measuring 6 weeks ahead and so is liquor....Asked today, and there is no real health implications for baby. It is just big.

I am 6ft2.5 and so is OH. MW yesterday said it goes more on maternal size...But look how big clairescunny55 said her baby was! That seems certainly paternal! :shock: :lol:

I am measuring a week ahead with the fundal height. I'm 4ft 11 ins and DH is 5ft 6ins so not expecting a big baby so I think the measurement thing is inaccurate.

I think there is a up to 2 cm either way with measurements. So 1 cm would be neglible (sp?)....
