Hey everyone :)

I've taken a few OPK's, but I have PCOS so when i ovulate is very unpredictable, and OPK's aren't cheap!

I've read a few times on here that if the second line comes up but isn't as dark it's negative but means ovulation is coming? but i've also heard that it's just a negative full stop?

Confused?! :/

any help would be appreciated?!

thankyou
x

Your body always has the luteal hormone... So that's why the line is there. You get a surge of the hormone just before ovulation which causes the line to go much darker... Hope this helps?! X

ah i see! thankyou!

yes that is much help thankyou. So when there is a faint line it just means it's a negative and that i've either missed ovulation or it hasn't come yet? doesn't necessarily mean i'm about to ovulate?

xx

Exactly! If you test every day you should see the surge x

I only started opk-ing last month but I saw an increase in the line darkness each day for about 3 days and then a huge difference so for me I found it quite easy to see the surge. I have read a few posts here from ladies that don't seem to get such an obvious surge though.

I got 60 opk's online for £11 incl p&p, don't know if that helps you? x

It happens both ways for me. Some months I see a gradual increase and others I will have a faint line and then my positive the next day. I don't tend to get lines at other times in my cycle apart from leading up to ov and just after x

Dammit Janet, where did you get them from? :O that's a very good price for so many! With me having irregular periods and all that, i'd need to take a test everyday!

xx

Go Zara, I found generally speaking my lines got gradually darker towards OV then one day would just be appear much darker than control line = definite positive. After OV the lines would tend to fade again. But I wouldn't say a faint line means it's on its way so to speak because I used to get faint lines from CD6/7 onwards but would OV until cd19/20 so means nothing until it's equal or darker to control line .. Good luck to you both xx
