Hi ladies,

I have been diagnosed with reduced ovarian reserve due to high FSH and low AMH, I am only 31.
We have a few months to try naturally and then its on to IVF which apparently have lower success rates due to AMH. I am assuming cos I may not produce many eggs, on my last antral follicle count scan, I had 8 follicles and that wasn't with any drugs so I don't think that's too horrendous.

Can any of you let me know what course of action you're going through, did anyone conceive naturally or have success with IVF?

I am taking coq10 and will start l'arginine as I have read these are good for the lead up to IVF, any other suggestions? xx

I had a low AMH level for my age. It meant that I got higher dosage of menopur than others may have for my IUI. I was successful in getting 3 large follicles before I took the trigger shot. So low AMH doesnt mean theres a huge problem. First time Iof IUI was very lucky to get my wee mirical baby. I hope the same happens for you!!

Congrats, I am so happy it all worked out for you :)
We will have to go straight to IVF with my numbers so I am hoping we get a little miracle naturally over the next few months xx

AMH is not a reason alone to go straight for IVF, AMH is the quantity and FSH is the quality, I believe if the FSH is higher than 10 then your chances of conceiving naturally are very low

I had border line FSH and low AMH, went to Penny at Serum and was lucky enough to concieve 1st time around with my LO

My FSH is high but my consultant said there is no test that can tell you the quality only quantity. FSH is just how hard the brain and body is working to produce the eggs etc (that's my understanding from what he explained). I have conceived 3 times but unfortunately miscarried each time. He said because I have conceived a few times, he thinks it could happen again but we obviously can't leave it too long before we take action.
Thanks for letting me know who you went with as I want to really have an idea of my options if the time comes and huge congrats, so glad it worked out for you :) Did you respond well to the meds/produce a lot of eggs etc? xx

Hi
I was tested and my AMH is 7 I'm 33 and the dr said the result is equivalent to that of a lady who is mid 40s. We had ICSI IVF due to male factor infertility and not my AMH level. I was told to take dhea for 4 months prior to ec which you buy online. I was put on the short protocol and a high dosage of menapur I produced 12 eggs, 12 fertilised 4 made it to blast stage first ET resulted in bfn second was a FET and I got my BFP
Best of luck my story shows that you can get a BFP with a low AMH x

Thanks so much for posting your positive story :) That's a lot of eggs especially with low AMH as a lot of what I have read is people just producing 3-4 eggs. I have been told my chances of conceiving naturally are no different as I ovulate every month (but can't take the risk of trying too long) but its hard to know I am on a timer so to speak. I am taking coq10 and l'argine as I have read these are good for the lead up to IVF. I have been taking coq10 for a month and a half already so I am hoping this will help with it happening naturally for us. I have read up on DHEA, I have endometriosis and it can apparently make it worse so I am not sure if I should take it or not.
Thanks again and sorry for my big long ramble, just nice to chat to someone who has been in the same boat xx
