Ladies, it is happening...
Last night I came to hospital with high blood pressure. It went down over night after meds but the consultant that came to see me this morning said that it looks like a start of pre-eclampsia and since I am past full term she suggested induction.
Not how I imagined my labour experience but hey ho
I will try and keep this updated but it may be a loooong induction process since I am only 1cm now x
10am - 24hr pessary was inserted. Most unpleasent experience ever! Even with gas and air it was horrible. Just the thought of pessary falling out and having to be re-inserted brings tears to my eyes. Waiting for hubby and best friend to come and visit now x
8pm - contracting frequently but the contractions are not lasting very long. MW is happy with the progress and says there is a good chance that cervix is dialering yay!
10am - have been examined and only 1-2cm still but with paper thin cervix apparently so they have decided not to go ahead with a 2nd pessary right away and give me 6hrs to progress on my own.
6pm - cervix still not favourable. Was given a stretch and sweep and will be examined again around 11pm. Gosh this is taking forever!
11pm - examined again, still no way they can break my waters. 6hr tablet inserted. Lets see what happens tonight x
6am - painfull contractions comming every 3min but cervix still not favourable. Managed to get a small but needed snooze and the contractions are comming back now, slowly. Once MW is happy with the freqency of contractions (can't be coming to fast) she will give me something to make me favourable x
5pm - cervix was assessed as favourable and I can now move to labour ward to get my waters broken. Hopefully they will have a bed for me soon x Eeeeeeek x
9pm - moved to labour ward, water broken (so, so much water). I was just given a drip and an epidural and all we have to do now is wait x
2am - 7cm dialeted. Loving the epidural x
