Reality TV star Kerry Katona shocked viewers today as she made an erratic appearance on ITV's This Morning.

The former Atomic Kitten star slurred her words and frequently looked around the studio calling for her husband Mark Croft as she was interviewed by presenters Philip Schofield and Fern Britton.

Kerry, 28, has previously battled drug addiction and appeared on the show to discuss her recent cosmetic surgery.

At one point Philip Schofield asked her: "You don't seem right to me, you've got the body sorted but your speech is a bit slurred, how are you feeling?"

Kerry glanced off camera and seemed shocked as she asked: "Is it?" She then admitted her speech may be slurred but said it was because she was taking prescription drugs.

She said: "That's because I'm on medication at night-time. I had some last night, didn't I Mark?" before trying to see her husband amongst the crew behind the camera.

Fern asked the star about recent claims in a magazine that she had been drinking while on holiday.

"Have you got rid of one addiction by replacing it with another? It it alcohol?" she said.

A smiling but obviously rattled Kerry answered: "No, not at all. I'm on holiday in Spain and I'm allowed to have a drink, aren't I?"

Both Fern and Philip assured her they were not insinuating she had done anything wrong, to which she replied: "Oh right, because I thought you were trying to find out if I'm an alcoholic now."

Was she really bad?

I heard it on the radio this morning. She was definitely slurring. Why does she do it, going on tv drunk is not going to do her reputation ay good but will certainly get her some publicity .

Grr! This "lady" irritates me enough already without her claiming to be Bipolar and giving the rest of us sufferers a bad name. I am on similar medication to her and I certainly don't slur my words or act p*ssed. Makes me SO angry!

What were This Morning thinking? She should never have been allowed on tv, the whol;e thing was very uncomfortable and Phil and Fern are not trained in challenging peple. But it makes good ratings doesn't it

I never saw the actual interview, just a video on YouTube. She looked and sounded like she was off her face. If it was her medication causing her to be that way someone should have stopped her going on the show although I can't see why it would. I have been on similar medication for years and I don't act that way when I take them, not even when I started retaking them after having Aimee. I highly doubt it was that but seriously her agent or someone working on This Morning should have put a stop to it.

I actually cannot stand Kerry now, since getting involved with Mark she has changed a lot. He is a controlling git who is using her for her money.

Im quite pissed off at this cuz, she made Phillip and Fern out to be really bad. I also defended her when my mother in law was criticising her saying she was an alcoholic, I told her it had to be her medication. I have always liked her but really she is going down a rocky road at the moment and she should get rid of that awful husband of hers.

She must have had advice to let this news out now otherwise a leak was on its way-this always happens, she was hardly going to admit to it unless a snake in her camp was about to reveal all, this way she cashes in yet again.
