... is anyone planning on videotaping the birth?

Personally its not my thing.... don't want my bits in that kind of state recorded for future viewing haha, plus I want OH beside me instead of standing to the side when Im actually pushing... but I've had a few people ask me if I'm going to do it .

Just wondering what everyone thinks or is planning to do?

I don't understand people that video/ photograph the birth - it's not exactly pretty viewing
And it's not like you need any help remembering what happened plus you've got baby as a permanent reminder!
Videoing etc AFTERWARDS maybe, once everything is nice and clean and pretty but not the Action sequence!!!

I wish I had! I have a photo of me in labour and thats it. wish Id taken more tbh. Honestly, just take one of 2 in the labour room, they're lovely to look back on.

Defo not! Lol. I'm worried enough about my OH seeing me in that state let alone having to view it myself! CRINGE!!! And I'm pretty sure LO wouldn't appreciate it when they got older too! Haha! I'll be asking for my make-up bag before there are any pictures taken including me haha! xx

Someone I knew from college had hers filmed and she was loopy apparently! She was saying to her boyfriend, "I'm doing this because I love you" whilst she was pushing Craaaaaaaaaazy!

I dont mind photos but hav told OH not to switch the camera to film mode. TBH the way he reacts when I watch birthing programmes he gets a bit squemish so I dont think he would suddenly turn into Martin Scorcese and be right in there with a camera anyway lol

I wish I had some kind if reminder if the birth as I really enjoyed (2 out if 3 of ) them. They were all the best days of my life and no I wouldn't get them out for family viewing haha but my memorieshave really faded of them which is a shame.

^^^ agreed. I really wish I had it on tape. Its all such a blur. Like I say, Im thankful for that one photo but next time Ill be asking OH to film little bits and take loads of photos. Its gives them something to do as well lol. I dispised being touched and anyone too close to me during it so FOB just kind of stood around. I think taking photos and what not would have made him feel like he had something to do.

I'm gonna be worrying now incase OH decides to take a pic, he knows i'll kill him. Was only just thinking last night that my legs are massive now....so swollen & fat & i'm dreading him seeing my full legs/lower body, let alone worry about photos!!

I hate the photos of me just after i had my daughter, what a fat ugly minger i was, and I was 15 years younger then, be baby only this time until I look presentable! I didn't even want my wedding day filmed when you look your best so wouldn't dream of being filmed at my worst!

dear God no, though i would love the idea of someone filming the moment that they handle me the LO in my cuddle. though i will never forget it i am sure that i will want to look back on those very special moments. same for oh cuddling the LO for the very first time

No way would i want it filmed, or even photographed! I am really hoping to be able to give my hair a quick brush and apply a bit of slap before any pics are taken - how realistic that will be in all the excitment i don't know! xxx

hmm i have been thinking to because my husband wont be at the birth and wont see the baby for a few weeks and i hope for a normal delivery this times, so it would be quite special. it would be only him seeing it, but i dont think i will have anyone to film it anyway as i dont want anyone to see... maybe i will ask the midwife to film bits and straight after

The plan was for my 2nd to be filmed! Didn't quite work out that way! Even if I'd known where the camera was, there wouldn't gave been time to turn it on! A d between my mum catching the baby and my dad on the phone to the ambulance, there was noone to do it

I think it's such a special time and I'd love to have been able to watch it back!
