**** July 2014 Mummies ****

Sorry your not feeling well Hun! My dd is full of it so no doubt I will by the end of the week.

I don't have a Doppler so can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat x

I've got my 16 week midwife appointment next week so hopefully be hearing a lovely heartbeat then. I would like a Doppler but dh doesn't so we'll see what happens after he's heard the heartbeat for the first time, might be a different story x

Anyone else get all hormonal over coronation street and end in an emotional wreck?

Absolutely exhausted from watching that. Made my hubbie watch with me and I was sobbing my heart out. Was beautifully done but I struggled lol I never cry like that over tv or movies. Heartbreaking!

Had my 16 week midwife ap today. They didn't let me hear heartbeat, they said I have to wait until my scan lol but happy with the rest of my ap that went so well and was great talking about my ideas for delayed cord clamping and hypnobirthing etc with her

Don't watch corrie but it's been all over my twitter feed..

Can feel my uterus now it's moving up.. Especially when I get tightenings... It's a rock hard lump atm, it's so bizarre but wonderful because it reminds me I'm pregnant! (& that I shouldn't be rearranging my heavy potted plants whilst I'm carrying a life!)

Hope you ladies are all well.. I also can't wait to find out how many boy babies/girl babies we will have between us all :) xx

So sleepy today. Really struggling to sleep and get comfy now! Think I'm going to invest in a pregnancy pillow today or tomorrow - any recommendations?

Off to work in a minute, my work pants feel tight, going to have to invest in some maternity work pants too.

Loving the fact that when I lie down I can definitely feel baby moving - helps me to relax a bit!

I started looking into one to one midwifery after a post in pregnancy chat. Got to wait for a phonecall in the next 48 hours. Would be nice to have some continuity. So far I've had a midwife that messed up all my blood work and if it wasn't for the hospital, they would have missed my antibodies and I wouldn't be consultant led yet or getting the extra checks I need. Have a completely different midwife tomorrow and then I'm moving in march so will have to change doctors and teams again. So hopefully this will be a good thing for me!

Suppose I best get going to work! Only in this morning thankfully x

How are we all today?

Daley, what's one on one midwifing about then? Is it private? Bet it's costly! Sounds totally worth it though x

I've stayed off work today. Need a day to try and get rid of this cold. I can't sleep cause I can't breathe properly. The joys!

Sarah I wasn't meant to hear heartbeat as they only do it after 20 weeks now but I mentioned I was worried I didn't have a bump and wasn't really putting on weight so she checked for me x

I'm just greedy lol I heard the heartbeat at 15 weeks...! I just miss it and within days get paranoid again haha

I'd buy a Doppler but I know I'd become obsessed by it!

Hi Daley,

I bought a cheapie pregnancy pillow from Argos yesterday funnily enough, slept with it for the first time last night and it was soooooooooo comfortable - I had the best nights sleep ive had in weeks and didnt roll over once (which I normally do) it was £12.99

Not sure how long it will lasy but so far so good :)

As for the doppler, I (we) didnt want one but was bought one by my sister as a gift and so glad I was, I do have to make a conscious effort not to over use it but its so nice when you're having a bit of a worrying day to be able to have a sneaky listen to your babys heartbeat.

Yeah, it would be lovely but hopefully I'll be getting movement soon so shouldn't have to worry too much.

I love my doctor. I can't get the flu jab as I have a latex allergy but I can use Otrivine which is my saviour when I have a cold x

Hey girls hope your all well.
When are your 20 week scans?
Mine is 3rd march and feels ages away!xx

Hi ladies!

I had my 12 week scan today and got moved forward by a few days so my due date is now July 31st! I had my ds 17 days late and I am pretty convinced this one will be late too so I should probably stick in the August thread but I wanted to say 'hey' and is it ok to pop in here from time to time since I am officially a July mummy??

Hope you are all getting on well in tri 2 and feeling better than tri 1!!
xxx

No it's free! It's a private company that work alongside the nhs. They are regulated by all the right people and are nhs funded. From what I understand, they can come to your house for appointments, including evenings and weekends. You have the same midwife throughout asking as your happy with that person. They do all the usual stuff like helping with classes and run some of their own. If your having a home birth where possible that would be your midwife. If going to hospital they visit you at home in labour to check you and go with you to the hospital to hand you over. After the birth they visit you for 4-6 weeks, longer if needed. Mine will have to be shared care due to my consultant but if I want the midwife can come with me to them. Sounds too good to be true! Waiting on a phonecall back to sort a booking in appointment with them.

I know it's in merseyside but don't know about anywhere else. Will keep you all updated though.

How did you even enquire about this service? I would love that so much! X

Noticed a thread on it in pregnancy chat. Went on the website, read up on it and then phoned to enquire x
