So, I dont have a stove.. or an oven.. and often have to get imaginative on how to cook with a microwave, a kettle, and a slow cooker. After reading one of the PF thread, I had a craving for dippy eggs and came up with this.. Everyone so far has told me it doesnt work.. So here are instructions to prove it does :)

What you will need..

2 eggs at room temperature (Oh yeah, I dont have a fridge either)
6 hair elastics (Depending on the height of your kettle, if you have a short one, use less..)
A chopstick
An electric kettle
Eggcup
Bread
Butter
Mouth

Ok so the idea is that when an electric kettle no longer has its lid.. the water keeps boiling as it cant get a firm read on temperature to cut off again.

First for the tricky bit, Put an elastic band over the eggs the short way around, this gives grip for the second one..

Link together two other bands and place one Lengthways over the egg, forming a cross. Repeat for second egg.

Loop the free end of the elastics over the chopstick, and lower into kettle.

Turn kettle on.

Wait 2-3 minutes depending how you like them.. Butter bread and slice in meantime.

And finally, Put in mouth.

:)

[Will add pictures later when I finally crawl out of bed to do it lol]

Seriously?!! Did that work!! Sounds very complicated and impressive!!

Yep works perfectly! Not that complicated, only complicated bit is trying to make the eggs stay in the elastics, You cant put them in without anything to hold them up in the water cause they will explode if they are on the heating element

You can use tangerine netting instead, put them in and fasten it over the side so it doesnt fall.

Sounds like a lot of work for an egg lmao!

Outrage! My OH told me I'm only allowed hard-boiled eggs!!

alot of us are on the understanding that we are only allowed hard boiled eggs in pregnancy but many say and do different ;-) xx

Hmmm.... I might have to have a sneaky one using Kat's method......

Tangerine netting is simpler, But I didnt have any so had to come up with the elastics idea LOL

You can use anything that wont melt.. But you have to keep them OFF the heating element. You do NOT wnat exploded eggs in your kettle, you would need a new one

As for not being allowed them.. So long as the white is thoroughly cooked (which it was.. PERFECTLY done when i did this) and they arent out of date... go for it LOL

I happen to have bought some clementines in a net just last week.....

one of those nets that you put laundry tablets in would work too :yay:

Very inventive. For the record Ive eaten more runny eggs than I care to count during this pregnancy. I havent had food poisoning from them :yay:

I'm still eatting runny eggs!! Love them and love your method momma Kat :D

I couldn't I'd be thinking where the egg came from and how I enjoy my morning coffee without thinking about a chickens ass  but love the idea in general.

Oh God, Ladies I have to try and find my picture of an attempt at a fried egg

couldnt you of just boilded water in your slow cooker on high and put the egg in for 4 mins?

Do you know how long it would take to boil water in a slow cooker !? LOL

And 4 minutes is way to long
In the kettle I do 2mins and 45 seconds, then straigt into cold water, and they are perfect.
