well the reason my job seems to be worrying me lately is because i work with alot of chemicals and oils and things like acetone, and i am scared to death of somwthing bad happening like last time :( everything i do at work makes me cringe and i think "oh my lord im going to miscarry from this!!" im just so paranoid. also we lift alot of heavy things like between 20 and 50 pounds. does anyone know what my weight limit should be as i dont have a doc appointment until 07 september and cant ask anyone else. i guess im still just really stressed and scared because of my last pregnancy.

tell your work your pregnant , they will HAVE to do a risk assesment by law , if they cant provide u with safe work to do , they have to suspend u on full pay !

u need to tell work about ur pregnancy as they will have to do a health assesment on the job u do and if u are unable to do it due to risks they are obliged to find u alternitive within their company.

Is the law regarding risk assessment the same in the states?

I agree you should say something, it's not worth the risk

I've got work tomorrow and will have to carry £2000 worth of coins down several flights of stairs to the shop floor. I struggle doing it on the best of days. Will be bringing them down bag by bag tomorrow and if anyone moans I'll tell them I've got a bad back

oh pantz , i forget breeze is in the states :wall:

there must be some kind of law to do with work and pregnant ladies ?

i to have the possibilty of coming in to contact with chemicals , so im now not aloud to even clear up a paint spillage lol

I would tell your employer about your pregnancy. Regardless of where you are from, your employer has a duty of care to up hold. As for the lifing.....I wouldn't. I know that there are many different policies on max weight, height and distance. Check out what your health and safety regulations are.

Let us know how you get on. xxx

well as it turns out my father is my boss..lol..so yeah i can tell him i shouldnt be doing this stuff...and r ya kidding me? the states doesnt even pay maternity pay at all let alone give a crap about the injuries you can get from dealing with certain things..im so jealous u girls live where u do :( i wish we had the same benifits.....i know the lifting should be banned for me..lol..i jsut wish i knew how much i should lift
