I think it all started when we went for a local NCT meet up and whilst I felt it was a waste of time (hopefully antenatal classes are better!) it made me think about all the things I havent done - pretty much everything.

There was a woman due around the same time and she was talking about having sorted the pram, furniture etc, she signed up for yoga classes and so on.

I just didnt have the time or physical strenght to do it, we have moved house 2 weeks ago and still finishing up decorating, unpacking etc and I have a full time job where you cant relax.

Do I need to start doing things now and will it be too late when I go on maternity leave(I am working up until 31 weeks, then holiday and then maternity leave)

I dont even have a list of stuff I need to get. Nor do I know how much it will cost. I am starting to panic and thinking about labour doesnt help as well, I am petrified

Awww Hun try not too stress this is a stressful time as it is & all the added extras on top don't help movig house etc!
I kept having nightmares my baby would be born and I had nothin at all. 1st things 1st make a list and prioritise what u really need & what can wait & work down it u might feel a little better then.
I'm not due till 5th oct but I went to see a phycic & she told me I would have him 17th sept everything else has come true so I'm convinced she's right.
Ive only bought a few bits an pieces main thing was the steriliser but everything else I haven't got a clue I looked at prams a couple days ago buy there is so much choice what do u go for!!!
I'm also goin to be moving house soon & I've just set up a new business so it's all go my end to.
Good luck but yeah I defo think a list is the way forward xxx

Whatever situation you find yourself in there's always the know-it-all who's done it already, like on the first day of school/Uni when you meet those ones who already know all the teachers/have got their timetables sorted etc etc. it does freak you out!
We only bought the pram & cot last week as there was a special offer on. Apart from that I have some clothes and a steriliser and that's it. I need to make a list and get a move on too but I bet loads of other people are in the same boat, it's not easy when you have a full time job and by the time you get home all the shops are shut. I know how you feel xx

The funny bit is that I bought a steriliser as well, it was on sale so I got it, plus got car seat, baby bouncer and gym from a friend of mine, barely used.

Just finished my excel spreadsheet with a budget, feeling a bit better but at the same time I realise how much stuff I have to buy. Looking forward to my holiday in June to sort some things.

Your psychic predicted that your lo will be born on my due date btw.

I am also scared he will come early, I was born at 33 weeks!

Oh lord, don't let the baby come early, I won't be finishing work till 4 weeks before my due date!

I googled a list for newborn babies - essentials and good to have's so put all of that on the spreadsheet, put estimated spend on it and for the items I already bought I have put actual prices, will be good to see how wrong I was about the costs
This is the essentials

Cot (plus mattress, sheets and blankets) Car seat Pram Six sleepsuits/ long sleeved suits Six vests/ short sleeved suits Two cardigans/ jackets Shawl or snow suit Hat, mittens and bootees Changing mat (2) Nappies Feeding equipment for expressed milk Nursing bra and breast pads Loads of bibs Loads of towels/ flannels/ muslin squares (for bathing and dribbles!) Loads of kitchen roll and cotton wool pads Brush and comb

Sounds good, I have to have warm weather clothes as it can be quite warm in Italy even at the end of September. We have a bank holiday on Thursday, think I am going to make a list of all the things I have/need still.
My sister in law has saved me a load of stuff too and is going to give it to me on Sunday hopefully. This should calm me down a bit!!
