Is labour imminent?

Hello everyone,
I'm 38 weeks and the last couple of days I've been feeling quite different. I went to see the midwife Tuesday who said that baby is engaged. Since then I've lost my mucus plug.
I've been having quite intense Braxton hicks, since yesterday they've been coming every hour. I haven't slept well at all as I wake up with a tight belly and needing the loo.
I have back ache and what feels like menstral cramps.

Ive taken paracetamol which has relieved the back ache, but still experiencing the tightenings.

Anyone had anything similar before labour? I know it could still be weeks, but I'm really hoping it won't be as I'm so uncomfortable!

Sounds like all the right thjngs are happening but labour can be so different!

I had 0 symptoms and my waters just went POP at 41 weeks.

However some peiple have all those symptoms from say 37 weeks and still go over due date.

I had the exact same symptoms for 2-3 days before I gave birth, sounds very promising x

I've been awake since midnight with contractions, I've phoned the hospital last night and about an hour ago, they've recommended that I stay at home for another couple of hours. I'm so uncomfortable now, I feel like I need the loo all the time. Im also shattered as I only managed an hour's sleep.
I hope this is actual labour I don't fancy another day like this soon

Hello, baby Elsie Rose arrived yesterday at 1:29pm weighing a very healthy 8 pounds 5.
She's absoloutly beautiful.
The labour all went well and only lasted just over 5 hours. So happy she is finally with us
