hey i am 36+2 and i had a labour scare a few weeks ago but yesterday i walked up steep hill where i live and since then have had some pains like dull cramping, it didn't wake me up in the night but when i woke up to go to the loo i could feel the pain and i did wake up a few times weather it was because of the pain i don't know but today i've had cramps on and off sometimes they feel quite sharp but can go as high as just over my belly button.. and i feel unbelievably tired and run down i don't really want to leave the house, i had something to eat this morning but now i'm not hungry and don't fancy anything, the past week i have got stressed if the house isn't tidy and tidied it and i have had what i think is my mucus plug it wasn't red but it was very thick and stringy so i don't know whats going on weather this is the start or not please can someone help me!:oooo::oooo:

Sounds like it might be, I'd call your local labour ward and ask their advice. I'm not completely certain on this but they may want to monitor you to make sure baby is ok as you're not technically due yet. Good luck!!

Sounds like you have indeed lost your plug, or at least part of it. Some people get mixed up with the mucus plug (just mucus) and the bloody show (mucusy blood) and they're not the same thing. I believe the bloody show happens within a day or so of labour, the plug can go weeks beforehand.
Try not to panic, just phone the labour ward/ triage and explain what has happened, they'll tell you whether or not to come in xx

Yeah my plug was whitey/greyish and stringy, looked horrid. I lost that whilst in the latent phase of labour and I had my bloody show the day before she was born - It was literally a pile of barely set yellowish jelly with streaks of red and brown in it (sorry for the graphic details, but it might help you figure out when to go to hospital), wasn't a huge amount either.

You can lose your plug at any time and it's not necessarily an indication of labour. Obv of it's accompanied by contractions it is xx
