Is it safe to have a smear test in the 2ww?

I am well overdue to have my smear test but am unsure if it is safe to have it in the 2ww. I was told before that it was best to have it done mid cycle but this would mean having it done either just before or during the 2ww.

Sorry, no pearls of wisdom. Maybe you could discuss it with your nurse before you have the smear. I'm sure she will be able to advise you if it's ok or not.

i had my last smear on cd 10 and got my bfp that month hunnie i would say it wouldnt harm a thing but discuss things with your dr/nurse before

Here they like you to have it done between CD14 to 21 so roughly when you ovulate. I cant see it does any harm, but like iggle and hannah said, check before you go

If it wasnt safe they would ask you if you could be pregnant when they give you one, so its safe.
Better to get it before you are pregnant then when you are anyway.
