Internal ultrasound scan on Friday! Nervous x
Anyone that's had 1?
Do they hurt??
Can they tell you if somethings wrong there an then??
My dr said we'd get the results in 2wks  would hate to wait that long for the results x
Do I still have 21 day bloods done if this is wrong? X

I've had one it doesn't hurt but try to relax as it makes it more comfortable. They see everything, uterus, ovaries etc that's how I got diagnosed with Pcos. Hope it goes well xx

I have had 2, the first one didn't hurt at all bit like a smear, but it was done by a nurse so I didn't get my results straight away, this is the one that diagnosed my pcos.

Second was done by my fertility specialist to check my ovaries for follicles, it was ok but she had trouble seeing my left ovary so it was a little painful but nothing extreme.

As princess said just try and relax as it helps xxxxxxx

Hi there - just had one about two hours ago. It doesn't hurt - you get what looks like the longest dildo ever well lubricated inserted - but only as far as a tampon, so it's not too uncomfortable. It only took a few minutes. I was shown everything on the monitor so it's quite interesting to see. Don't worry - having a smear is more uncomfortable than this. You'll probably get told there and then if they spot anything :D

Internal ultrasounds are fine, don't hurt at all, I've had 2 in the last week! They can see the ovaries using it, and I found when they looked at my left side it was slightly more uncomfy but not painful. Most of the time the sonographer will tell u what they see, I don't see why u would have to wait 2 weeks for results. I was told straight away last year that I had a polycystic right ovary when they scanned me when I had coil problems. Hope everything goes well and u get some answers xx

I had one and it never hurt one little bit... seriously it never even felt uncomfortable for me. I relaxed and before i knew it it was over with! Its nothing to worry about so don't be stressing about it. xxx

Thanx for sharing ur experiences!! Not worried jus want to be able to find out there and then so can hurry up with treating x

Girls with pcos what's ur treatment plan?? X

I had ovarian drilling done, did the job for me. Though on my last scan my consultant told me that if I want another baby it will probably be the clomid route. Will cross that bridge when I come to it though :oooo: x

Because I only have one polycystic ovary the doctors have just left me, it doesnt seem to have affected me getting pregnant, was trying for 2 months when I got pregnant but sadly having a missed miscarriage at the mo. Xx

I've had several scans, I find internals more comfortable tbh cos you don't need a full bladder for it!!

ive had 2 and they dont hurt i had to have a full bladder when i had mine done and i nearly pissed my self lol
i was diagnosed with pcos this way and the sonographer will tell you things while doing it mine told me,
plus i could also see the cysts on both my ovaries but ive managed to control mine by losing weight and
quitting smoking and im now 6 weeks pg :) xxxx

Hope everything goes ok for you hun and you get your answers soon x

I am currently on clomid, if it fails then next stage is having my tubes checked and ovarian drilling. I think clomid is the first step for most women affected by pcos xxx

Ovarian drilling was my first stage treatment. Because I only have the cysts and not the syndrome iykwim? No weight loss would have helped cos I wasn't overweight and didnt have any other associated symptoms either, just no period for nearly a year

I've had two, apparently my womb is inverted so it's the easiest way to see. No it didn't hurt, obviously not an enjoyable experience and your dignity completely out the window but your really don't need to worry and I am a bit of a wimp. Both times I was told if they could see anything.

I've had too many internal US to count, infact i had 1 on monday and they dont hurt at all hun, they should be able to see any abnormalities straight away and i've never had to wait for the results, maybe its just that they take 2 weeks to send the report to your GP, ask lots of questions!!

xx

i need to go for an internal scan to check for pcos. im just waiting for the letter with a date to be sent to me. i just want to get it over and done with so i know if i have it or not. that way i can take appropriate action xx

Hope you font have to wait long welshhunnie x

We have a drop in clinic here so I've been given the form and can go on Friday on my day off x
