Internal scan

Hello ladies,
I was just wondering as I am 6 weeks and 4 days my first time being pregnant and I have a doctor's app Friday as I found out Monday I'm pregnant and I wasn't sure if I have to ask for an internal scan as I'm such a worried person and I would like my mind put to ease just to make sure everything is ok. Please someone help me. Xx

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

It’s highly unlikely you will be given a scan at your gp appointment. Internal scans are usually given at your local emergency pregnancy unit and only if there has been some issues such as bleeding.
You can pay for a private scan but in my experience it’s external and has to be after you are 7 weeks.

If you don’t pay private for a scan and have no bleeding or need to visit the epu then your scan will be around the 12 week mark

Pregnancy is a really worrying time in the first few weeks.
Try to stay calm and not get to carried away with your thoughts! If there is no reason to worry I find that reassuring xx

I am really trying my best but I have always wanted a baby and I've never been happy in life so I'm so excited but so worried of something happening, my mom tells me to stop worrying and she's brilliant with support but I'm just a worrier. And no there's nothing for me to worry about at all. Thanks for talking Xxx

I totally understand. My mind functions the same way its so crazy.

Because I am early to around 6 weeks and 4 days I just worry more I can't wait to get to 12 weeks then there's less risk isn't there. X
