I've been poorly with a stomach bug and not actually eaten since Thursday lunch time. I've had been vomiting and had the poops but baby was still moving but not many kicks just feeling him roll and move and plenty of hiccups.

I'm feeling better today and I've managed a yoghurt and 1/2 pint of fluid. I've had to come to bed for a lay down as felt dizzy and I've been here since. Baby had been extremely active. Lots & lots of kicks, punches & movement.

Is he just happy with the food he's finally received or is it something that needs reporting? xxx

Hi Chaz, I wouldn't worry about it as sometimes I have extreme amounts of movement in one hour and its simply her stretching and getting frustrated at the lack of space, on the whole I feel the same amount each day so would say monitor it and compare a full days activity to the previous day and you will know whether its been significantly more...It is a fact though that drinking a lot then lying down will increase baby's movement as they are re-centering their gravity (especially if you were standing now lying on left or right side, sometimes I think she's playing the drums when I do that as they become erratic both sides of belly)....and responding to you drinking.

I normally get regular movement morning, afternoon and esp nighttime both evening and when go bed. Then yesterday was out all day lots of noise of other mums and babies, exercise, laughter etc and it felt like she never stopped all day then as soon as finished and sat down she chilled out as if she was knackered so I guess you need to kinda think about what activity/noise you have been getting and work out from that. It could be with your illness she decided to take a lot of extra naps and build up her energy then when you drink she's responding to the sounds and temperature of it and she's probably remembered where she is and acting frustrated at lack of space all over again...

sorry think I rambled a lot but think it makes sense....

Hi Chaz, anything that isn't 'normal' for your babies pattern of movement should be checked, if nothing else, for your own peace of mind. I also read hiccups shouldn't be counted as they are involuntary?x

keep in mind if you've been lying down and resting you might be noticing baby's movements more.

Only you really know if it's something out of the ordinary, and any changes are supposed to be checked.

Thank you ladies. I called the midwife and she said keep my eye on movements and he's probably just having a sugar rush as I've had nothing to eat that's stayed down since Thursday.

Starting to feel human again now and would happily have sciatica return if it meant I never had to feel like that again!!! xxx
