im coming off the pill any tips

hi im going to start trying for a baby next month by coming off the pill, have you got any tip on what to do to get pregment is there a best time of the month to have sex ect.

I think you'll probably need to let your cycles get into regular phases as when you come off the pill most women's periods muck up, some women don't have periods while on the pill so will need to wait for the periods to kick in again.

I read somewhere it can take around 6 months for you to become fully fertile again after being on the pill but this is just something I've read so I don't know how true that is.

When your periods become regular, use an ovulation calculator and they will tell you your fertile days and ovulation day, when I got pregnant which sadly leaded in miscarrying I conceived on my fertile day so my advice would be to on your fertile days and ovulation day to make sure.

In my experience I took about 4 months for my cycles to get back to normal. If you want to improve your chances you can use OPKs to identify when you ovulate although I would recommend using cheap ones till you are regular as my first cyle was 8 weeks so you could end up using quite a few!! My advice would be dont beat yourself up if it takes a while after coming off the pill as it does take apparently about 6 months but then again some people on here got pregnant in their first month!!

I came off the pill in December and it's only now my cycle is getting back to normal. Still having very light periods though. Not sure if thats normal for me or not yet. I started using opk this month and each day the line is getting darker, so think i'm ovulating. Good luck xxx

My GP warned me that you can be most fertile right after you stop taking it. I know this is what happened to my friend, she expected to take about 6 months to be able to conceive and fell immediately!

Hi rosie09, I am in a similar position, I waited until my pill pack came to an end (last pill was last tuesday) so just having a withdrawal bleed. I would normally start my pill again tomorrow but obv won't be taking it! I have no idea what to expect, I have been on Microgynon 30 for about 2 years. I have heard of all sorts of symptoms when stopping so I suppose it is down to the individual and will just have to wait and see!

Good luck, would be great to keep updated with each other's progress.
