About two months ago I watched a health/food programme on BBC2, for the life of me, I can't remember what it was called.
Anyway, this episode was about how to boost men's fertility to aid three TTC couples.
Firstly, one of the probs with sperm is that free radicals attack it and can damage them, making it more difficult for them to swim. The solution? Lots of Vitamin C! It is an antitoxidant and actively helps neaturalise free radicals. So two highly packed fruit smoothies a day was the key.
The other problem was the amount of sperm the men were producing, obviously we want as much as poss to maximise chances. Apparently a daily serving of brazil nuts helps with that problem. I think there is lots of zinc and selenium.
The three men in the couples did this diet for three months and one couple caught (they had all been trying for ages). Not wonderful statistics, and maybe completely coincidental, but I thought it was worth a try.
we are very busy people so don't have time to chop, prepare and clean up after big smoothie making operations. But hubby had one shop bought smoothie, high in Vit C every day. He also had a handful of brazil nuts every day. One month later, I got a BFP.
It could be coincidence, but it is worth sharing...
