i'll give you 10:1 this is early labour..... those contractions are effacing (thinning and drawing up) your cervix ready to get it dilating I had exactly the same - 2nights with no sleep , 1cm and waters intact at 2pm and contractions every 10min and baby smile born at 8pm!

keep snackign and drinking while you can and doze if you can between contractions - I found walking around the block with my OH really helped too (and watched every blackadder episode ever made!) baby will be here soon.xx

It sounds to me like the pre-labour stage (you probably know that anything up to 4cms isn't considered established labour and they don't take it very seriously until you get to 4!!!)

I had this with my first baby - it went on and on very like yours, and I didn't sleep for 2 nights before hitting established labour!!! I really think it would be worth getting checked out at the labour ward (or the m/w). They'll be able to tell you exactly what stage you're at and may be able to do something to get things going/ give you further advice otherwise you could end up getting over tired. This is what happened to me, and I ended up having a c/section after 4 days - even though they'd given me sleeping pills and kept me in the 3rd night I think my body just gave up on the 4th night!!!

Your waters won't necessarily break early (mine didn't - had to have them broken both times, and the second time they did it at 5cms to speed things up due to the first experience). I don't think I had a show 2nd time around either).

It'll all be fine, just try to relax and not get too upset.

I think you ladies might be right - things have started happening -I have just had my show!!!!!!! and lost a bit of minging plug!! I have had no blood or anything since my BFP, so this has to be a sign!
I just had a bath and I had 3 contractions in 15 mins. The contractions are getting a bit more regular (every 6/7 mins) but intensity can change depending on what position I am in, but I am more hopeful now that this is actually early labour and baby may make an appearance over the next few days!!
Still haven't rang delivery yet, just going to have some lunch and time the contractions for another half hour, then I will do it.
I am managing the pain (seems to be easier now I know it is purposeful) so I am holding off going in until absolutely necessary.

Yey!!! I feel so much more optimisitc now!!

(Oh yeah, PLEASE don't mention labour on Facebook - I am horrible and not letting any family or friends know as they will ring me every two minutes. I am just going to tell them when baby is here - it will be a nice surprise!)

Just phoned delivery - they agree it all sounds very promising. They are happy for me to stay at home, but are on standby if contractions become unbearable or get closer together. Yey!!! She said I could be like this for another 10/12 hours, but I don't care now, it seems to be kicking off, hooray!

Yup still here at the minute, think I will be for a while longer as the contractions have slowed down a bit. I have to admit, I am a bit relieved, has meant I can get some rest. I am not sure what it will be like when they get close together again, I think I will be begging for pain relief, lol! They are quite intense!
