HUGE milk reduction

last few days ive noticed that LO isnt interested in milk..at all... its like a fight to actually get him to drink a bottle..... his intake has dropped dramatically!!!! he will have 8oz before bed in 2 different installments..... and touch wood he has slept through the last few nights or just had like 2oz when he woke, today i gave him milk for breakfast as i was freaking out about lack of milk (8oz again) but he hasnt had any other bottles all day.... i cooked fish in his milk to get a bit in him that way for dinner and i make all his cereal and rice etc with formula even tho it says make with water... just how much exactly should he be getting im really confused?!?!?!

last few days he has has 17oz max in 24 hours.... previously he could have up to 32oz in 24hours!!!! im guessing the fact he is eating more has something to do with it?!? any advice appreciated thx ladies!!!

My lo had his 6-9 month (he is 6 months) check today and I got told off for giving him so much milk he normally had 26-28oz and she told me to knock 10oz off that So today he's had 3 bottles totalling 21-22oz and he's ate more

The bottle in the early evening was a a struggle so I fed him his dinner and dessert earlier and then his bottle. She said at this age no more than 20oz and his food now takes priority over milk

He ate a a huge pot of dinner plus a a huge pot of greek yogurt and fruit so I'm not worried about the milk

I asked my hv last week n she said after 6 month they need 20oz fluid a day, that's included what we put in there food. Xx

amelia has 7ozs at night then i make her breakfast with 3 ozs then she drinks 2ozs so she has 7ozs of 6 months plus and 5ozs of first milk x

I spoke to the hv about this at our check today. I'm bfing but ella is now on 3 meals of solid food a day. I was doing 3 bfs a day but she doesn't take much milk (hard to tell how much!). I asked hv and she said that ella should be getting most of what she needs from her food now and that I can cut down to just a bf in the morning and a bf at night. She also drinks water throughout the day. Hope that helps hun, try not to worry, babies are pretty good at knowing what they need! x

Theres supposed to have 20oz a day But my little monkey will only have 14oz max and that's with what is in her cereal, the hv said Not to worry about it Aslong as she drinks other fluids and has a varied diet including allot of calcium xx

thanks for the replies ladies!!! i feel alot better after reading them! =))) we'll see how he goes now and i'll try to get his formula in him via cereals etc etc!!!! =))

My hv told me last week that zac only needs 15-20oz (he is 10 months) as he is dropping quite a bit of milk too. I wouldn't worry about it if he is still having 2 bottles and is eating well x

Sounds like he is getting about the right amount hun don't worry, they do drop from 5 feeds with food, to 3 feeds I remember , which seems quite a jump at the time

Yep my wee man went from 5 to 4 and now at 3 x

in 24 hours hes had 16oz plus an once here and there in his foods!!! thanks for all the advice=))
