...booking a private scan?

The likelyhood is I won't get a scan until week 14 and it is just too long to wait, I've known since I was 3 weeks 5 days and I want to know if everything is ok.

Has anyone booked one and if so how do you do it and how much is it?x

Your midwife may be able to help. Or Google your local area see what that throws up. You could also contact your local private hospitals - the one I work at does them.
I know what you mean about the waiting - it feels like forever! I have 8 days until mine ans hoping I don't crack and fork out for one before then!!

I googled, and there were only a couple of private ones in my area, but I just needed that reassurance.

I had mine at around 8 weeks, and it cost £50. It took around 20 mins, and they measure the length, and check the heart, and print out little pics. Once you see the little heart flickering like mad, its a huge wait off your mind, and I would say its worth every penny, and I would defo get one again.
Im getting a 4d scan soon, and have seen that most places do the eary scans - they are generally called early reassurance scans, and range from £50-£80.

Although, I would say, I was reassured for about a week, lol, untill I found something else to worry about!

Thanks ladies, we've just booked one :)
Re my Midwife, I can't even get in touch with one until January 24th and I'll be 11 weeks by then; she then has to come out and then refer me for scan so there is no way we would get an NHS scan until at least 14 weeks.
We've booked one just down the road for 25 January :) x
