Hi there. We are going private for IVF and first consultation is next week which will be day 17 of my cycle. Husband is having sperm check results discussed there and then as well.

We have a dilemma though... Husband has just had great news and has a new job. Starting date is 19 October and will mean working away for 16 weeks mon-fri!!

My next period is due 1st October. What are the chances of me having a shot at IVF on that cycle before husband starts his job??

I will also have to have my bloods done again as out of date but guessing as I'm paying they would maybe be able to do that on first consultation day or ASAP?

Hopefully that makes sense?!

Thanks x

I'm really sorry I'm not sure of the answers to your question, my nhs cycle was really quick but that was mainly because we was UK military living in Germany so they helped us out, all our private cycles were abroad.
But, would you be able to freeze your husbands sperm at you consultation (or shortly after) so you are able to cycle while he is away if needed? (We have froze my hubbys sperm in Greece so I can use it if he us deployed last minute!)
X

When we had our cycle we could start as soon as we wanted, completely different going private, just a tip to speed things up, try and get blood tests on NHS asap as they all add up, can't remember everything we needed but might be able to start getting some now. If they aren't back I time you can prob pay and the clinic will get them back that day. We saved about £500 getting some of the bloods done through GP though. Also if egg collection ended up on a weekend your hubby could be there, but obviously they will tell you what day to go in depending on follicle growth etc. good luck x
