How much for passports?

My DH and my own passport are due to be renewed. Also, Isabella will need her first passport. How much will it cost?

last year i had to upgrade my passport to an adult one and get a new child one for oliver. i didn't realise it would cost so much.

apparently the passport office is non-profit making...! which only makes me wonder what the hell passport office staff earn to warrant the cost of passports...

I was at the passport office today to get Becky's application fast tracked as apparently although it says 3 week turnaround they are taking up to 6 weeks at the moment because it's almost the holidays. We're travelling on the 11th of July.

I was told by the call centre to bring 2 forms of ID for myself as well as Becky's birth certificate. The guy didn't even ask me for it and said "no" when I offered it. All that for £81! He didn't even bother to check the form while I was there - what was the point in me dragging us through to Glasgow for that?

It's a total rip-off, because it's not government funded the UK is one of the most expensive countries in the world to get a passport.

This is a sore spot with me. I got a new passport for holiday last summer. I then got married in December - so changed my name and I would have had to pay £72 for a new passport - despite me only wanting to change my surname!

I've still got my old one. I'm not sure if it makes a difference whether or not it's in my maiden or married name!

makes no difference hon - i was going to keep my maiden name passport cos it had 6 years left on it, but OH booked a holiday for us in my married name meant i needed a new passport, but i did get a trip to paris so i didn't complain

Bloody Hell!!! I sent off Owens application 2 weeks ago and got it on Friday, only took 9 days!!!!

I think its a discusting amount of money to pay for a baby/childs passport, ok yeah an Adults will be expensive but why a childs?
When we got Harrisons it only took a week to come back.

I applied for a new passport in my married name last month & when I got it through I noticed they had put my place of birth as Gigsoow when infact I was actually born in Glasgow so check carefully to make sure all the information on it is correct!

Oh Nooooooooo, I sent mine off yesterday for Thomas, we are booked to go on July 9th Looks like DH will be going with Charlie and SS and Ill be staying home with Tom!

I cant believe what a farce it is filling out the forms! I had mine declined twice using the check and send. 1st time my counter sign person didnt put 'Mr' on the back of Thomas's pics, and the 2nd time I had one digit out of the box due to not enough room! I was furious!

And the price..........its sickening.

Actually Budge if an "immigrant" becomes british and gets their first british passport it costs £655

I need to renew mine! No way do I want to pay £72! I suppose i should have stopped being so stubborn though as we were planning to go to Paris soon but still havent sent off for it!
I just dont want to pay that much for it lol! Its really peed me off! lol
I think if I was off somewhere like the Caribbean and it was costing £3000 then I suppose the £72 wouldnt seem as bad, I would just add it to the cost etc but Paris for a few days is like £300 and £72 just seems silly!!

Yep, it's not fair, especially if it's that different in different parts of the country. The office yesterday was absolutely heaving and people turning up wanting fast track applications without an appointment were being turned away (and not happy about it).

Unfortunately we can't take the very small chance that it would only take 2 weeks because the flights are costing our parents in law over £400. Well, it was their choice to book it so late!
