how much do you earn ?

I know it's a nosey question and no one has to answer or be particularly specific i just wondered what sort of money you guys live on.

I'm on maternity allowance at about £115 a week, that stops in December then i'll be on £0 !!

My OH works full time as a bar manager and he gets about £1000 a month before tax.

I earn a very average wage (the national average according to a recent poll)

I'd like to earn more but I think it's pretty fair for what I do. I know people who earn more for doing less but don't we all!

It generally depends on how much overtime OH does, but atm we are clearing about £2800 with me on £117 a week, When i was working full time we would clear about £3300, our outgoings are about £1800 a month.

I get about 10k a year, could do with more but working part time with a lack of child care buggers that up a bit.

I just checked out http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=285 and found that my DH is just under the top 10% but he does pay SUPER tax on that!!

Our monthly average after tax is around £4000.

When I qualify I should be above the average median wage & that should go up to around £5000 pcm combined.

Regardless of how much money we earn though, we never seem to have any!

I earn commission on my sales each month. I am on a basic of £9600pa (which, after tax, is about £650 per month)

So far, the highest I've ever been able to earn was about £800 commission, so £1450 in total for the month.. which isn't enough for me to pay rent, bills, food and buy things for the new addition on my salary alone.. but I'm doing it! *sigh*

I guess I should be grateful for what I have

I earn zilch at the mo. OH earns anything between £120- £200 a day depending on the job but then he can also have weeks where there is no work so it all balances itself out.

I earn £0, but Brian gets paid a very good wage, and doesnt even have to pay tax on it as he is an ex-pat but that does mean he is only allowed 90days in the UK per annum. He also gets paid in $'s so it changes each month depending on the exchange rate, but his work cap it if the dollar goes low at $1.8 to the £1.
Most months it is between £3000-£4500 a month. He also gets a quarterly bonus depending on the rig he is on and their oil profit made.

All sounds fab I know, but I would rather have him at home with me!

As normal in Spain we also get double our wage in June and December too... so if we are really lucky we can get 5000€ twice a year

Why do you get double in June and December if you dont mind me asking

I earn £0, but have just started to do some work (self employed) so will be sending out some invoices very shortly!
If it wasn't for OH Dan and I would starve! He earns a good wage £50k+ He normally takes home £2800-£3000 a month. He also gets a bonus once a year.
We still never seem have any spare money though! (He used to own his own business which went bankrupt a few years ago, so he has to pay back a percentage of his earnings for 3 years, so we don't get it all)

we usually take home just under £3k a month between us (so thats after tax) but if I get 2/3 days OT a month I can add about £600/£700 on that as I get double time - like everyone else we still never seem to have any money, I think its true what they say, you always will spend what you earn!!!!!
