How many people have conceived after the MAP?

Hi all

Mine's a bit of a wierd one...

Was on the depo for a while but came off and didn't have perids for 18 months. They started again and came every 2 weeks on the day, but were very light and short.

I had unprotected sex on day 10 of my cycle and took the morning after pill the next day.

I did not come on or day 14, or day 28, I've felt bloated and exhausted all this week, my appetite has lowered, my bowel movement (sorry!) have changed and I just feel wierd around my uterus, tight almost?

I also spot bled five days after sex and have had period pains but no period on and off for a week now.

On the box it said it was 84% effective if taken within 24 hours. Could I be a member of that 16%?!?

Anyone else gotten pregnant after taking it?

I know people who have gotten pregnant on the MAP. Have you taken a test? x

Yes, i have a few years ago - think i took it relatively soon after and certainly within the window it claims you can have.

Oh golly, didn't realise so many people would have done!

I haven't done a test yet as I'm pretty scared, I know in my head that it'll be negative but I have honestly never felt like this before.

How many days after your period is late should you do a test and which ones would people reccomend for accuracy early on?

As soon as your period is due you can test but quite a lot of tests allow you to try upto 3 or 4 days before.

People here seem to recommend first response strips as being super-sensitive.

Yeah I did with Sophia, she is almost 5 months now! Took it around 24 hours later, at the latest it was 26 hours but I still fell pregnant :/ wouldn't be without my baby girl though. Mine was a strange situation in that we desperately wanted to TTC but I had only had a c section 2 months before so it was too soon for us due to the major surgery and also we unfortunately lost our baby - so were still grieving. It was like she was meant to be tbh

edit - I didn't take a test until my period was 5 days late because tbh I was pretty naive and just assumed it had worked, never imagined it wouldn't! They say if you haven't had a period 3 weeks after taking the MAP then you need to test as there is a possibility of pregnancy. I thought it had just messed my cycle but your period generally should still come on time.

Yep, I did. I took it well within 24 hours and wasn't sick or anything like that but now I have a bouncing 19 month old lol.

I'd feel like such a fraud if I am. I am very confused about what I want here, circumstance wise this is the worst possible thing but I have been broody since I was 14 and so I'm secretly hoping its positive?

But. I would be a single mom (I'd be willing to bet on that!) with no money or qualifications or prospects.

I'm such a fool.
