My LG has just turned one last week.

She is cow milk and soya allergic and has neocate milk.

She has a 7/8 oz bottle at
7 am
11am
4pm
7:30 pm ( bedtime)
03:30 ( sometimes)

Does 4/5 bottles seem a lot?
She drinks the whole lot each time and still eats a big breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks!!
And she's skinny! 21 lbs.

Looking at other babies and listening about their habits, she seems to drink a lot! X x

Sounds like she must just be hungry! I've no advice as to what is normal, but my lo is 16 months and since 11 months she's had two 8oz bottles of milk and breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, she too is little at 20lbs! But they're all different! 4/5 does sound like a lot for her age, but if she's eating her food well then I imagine she just needs it, if you notice a decline in her food intake I would try cutting some milk out.
I personally would however not offer milk in the middle of the night, as she's clearly drinking lots of milk in the day and eating well so she deff won't need that one x

I rememeber Olly when he was 1 because we went to Turkey 6 days after his birthday - He was on a morning bottle of about 6-7oz and a bedtime bottle of the same.

He is now 19months and still has a bedtime bottle but isn't fussed about morning milk now

xx

I'm really struggling to cut the night bottle.
She always wakes up screaming for one. Do I offer her water instead? She will settle straight after a bottle but nothing else.

Did your LOs cut out bottles themselves or did you decide when to reduce? X x

Offer water, she won't be too impressed at first but she doesn't need it. I've never had to do that but I've heard it worked well for others. I can't offer further advice I'm afraid because my lo always hated her bottles, so when my HV and I realised she was getting enough food we just reduced with no issues. X

Ohhhh it's so hard lol

I'll try the water at night :)
Thank you so much for answering.
She loves her day bottles so I have no idea what to do there lol

I used controlled crying to cut out the night time bottles. I had tried offering water and reducing the amount he had by 2oz every 3 nights before that, but the only thing that worked was the cc. It took 4 nights and he stopped waking for them.

Personally I'd say if she drinks them all, and is still eating and drinking water as well in day there is no need to cut down.

At that age my LO was having about 2-3 bottles of milk a day, morning, bedtime and maybe one in the night or during the day. We moved him onto cows milk though too at one.

Personally I still give my LO a bottle of milk in the night if he wakes up asking for a drink and he's nearly two. I know there are those who say they don't need it. But I technically don't need to drink during the night, and sometimes I wake up thirsty wanting a drink so I go and get one. I don't see why my son should be any different.

Should also say he doesn't wake every night for a bottle. Its rare he wakes in the night and will specifically say drink if he wants one, rather than crying.

I'm sure I'd feel differently if it wasn't every night!
