How many children do you and your OH want? What sort of age gaps do you think you will have between them?

We would like 2, but who knows...once we have the first one we could find we love it more than we think and go for 4 or something! lol.

There is 22 months between me and my sister and its really nice to be quite close in age so ideally I would like something like that. Or I'd like to have twins...then its all done in one go!

I'd wouldn't like massive age gaps but I wouldn't want them to be babies all at once so I'd say every 4/5 years!

when i used to think about children, before i had any and these plans were farrrr farrrrrr in the future, i wanted two close together.
but then i got pregnant at eighteen, there's no way we could afford or cope with anymore for a long time!

we wanna ttc soon, HOPEFULLY i'll get pregnant straight away so there will be about 2 years and 4 months between them. iv always thought i wanted 2 or 3 kids- i always knew one wouldnt be enough but i'm pretty certain four would be too many for me. idk whether it's two or three i want, i'd check out the harmony of our family of 5 (including the cat!) first before considering whether or not to have a third baby. oh and of course i'd also have to ask my fiance how he feels about a third! might take a bit of grinding down

I only ever wanted 2, a boy and a girl, about 3 years apart and thats exactly what I got! I feel very fortunate to have my little family, and especially as it worked out exactly how I wanted it with the boy being the oldest Couldnt ask for anything more x

We're hoping to TTC for number 2 after the wedding (or possibly before ) so Finlay will be about 2 and a half/3 years old

im not sure how many i really want, at the moment im happy with the 5 ive got, but im only 25 and still have plenty of time. OH has said that we can have another baby in a year or so if i want too

i now have 7 and really dont know yet if i want one more, its still to fresh in my head right now but i think i would like just one more to male 8. As for the age gap, my eldest is 20 then 18, 17, 15, 14, 13, 2 weeks

Didnt plan either, there is an 8 year 8 month gap between ours. I would have only had one but fate took over and will be sterilised in march to make sure it doesnt catch me again!!

I'd love 4 or 5, but this definitely depends on if we can move/buy a new car - depressing but true.

There will be roughly 22 months between my first two, then I'd like a gap of around 4/5 years so I can watch my two grow and go back to Uni to do a postgrad (if we can afford it), then I'd like another 2 or 3 fairly close in age. I love big families!

OH would like four, but I am still not 100% convinced. At the moment I'd just like to have another and then perhaps one more. I haven't completely discounted having four either, but just think that travelling etc would be trickier. I know some other mums here have 5+ kids and I totally raise my hat to them.

Ideally, I'd like to have an age gap of about two years...

I def want at least 2... I am so broody at the moment as well but realistically its not the right time as I have just started a new job and we need to move first. We have a house to move to (my OHs we live in mine) but I would want to sell mine first as I definitely would only want to go back to work p/t.

I only want to work p/t now but as we cant sell with 2 mortgages we cant afford it.

TBH I could happily have 3 right now but I would have to wait to see how I managed with 2. I am aiming to start trying end of 2009

I want one more I think. I have two boys already with a 23 month gap between them. I definitely cant cope with anymore at the moment so if we do have a third it will be when my oldest starts school. Just got to convince my OH now!

I have had all mine now and I have 4! Theres 10.5 months between my first and second, 18 months between my second and third and nearly 7 years between the last two! lol

i have 3 children. the gap between my 1st n 2nd is 2 1/2 years and 13 months between my 2nd n 3rd their ages r 4 years, 20 months and 7 months. i would like a 4th probably in 18 months - 2years. there wont be anymore after that though no matter how much my DH begs me

i think the gaps between my children have worked out quite nicely for us.

my 4 year old happily helps out with bath time and nappy changes, my 20 month old (my only girl) is a right mother hen to the boys and my 7 month old is the happiest baby known to man lol. we do get a few tantrums over dribbled on toys though

Ideally, me and DH would like 2 (DH wants 3!). We'd like at least 2-3 years in between, but it depends on living circumstances and money. It would be nice to give Isla a little bro or sis.
